Eva Miller was on the phone, saying in essence that Christopher Smith really trusts Oliver Johnson now and is doing quite well, urging her not to confront Oliver over Asher Land’s matter.
To be honest, she really hates this feeling.
"Give his address," Sophie Smith reiterated.
"Sophie, haven’t I made it clear to you?" Eva sounded a bit helpless, "Do you really want to co over and have a fight with Brother Johnson?"
"I won’t fight him, I just want to co and see my dad. I haven’t visited him for so ti, and I wonder how his health is?" She spoke calmly.
"Oh, that’s fine then. Just don’t argue, alright? It’s good for you to visit Uncle Smith, he was just talking about you earlier, how you haven’t co to see him in such a long ti..."
Eva hung up the phone and quickly sent a text ssage to Sophie’s phone. Sophie changed her clothes, didn’t linger, and headed to Oliver Johnson’s house.
Eva didn’t inform Oliver Johnson and Christopher Smith in advance that Sophie would co at noon, so when they were about to eat, Sophie appeared before them like an unexpected guest.
"Sophie, the timing is perfect, co join us for lunch." Eva hurriedly added a set of cutlery and pulled her to sit down at the table.
Oliver Johnson observed her with interest, a faint smile at the corner of his mouth.
"I thought, Miss Smith, you wouldn’t co." Oliver Johnson appeared calm and composed, graceful in deanor, always maintaining an air of elegance.
"My dad is with you, Mr. Johnson, how can I be at ease? Of course, I have to co see him." As she spoke, there was a hint of sarcasm.
Oliver Johnson did not take her words to heart, instructed the servant to bring a bottle of fine red wine, opened the cork, and filled his glass.
"This glass, consider it an apology for my wrongdoings. I’m sorry, Miss Smith." Having said this, he drank the wine in one gulp.
Sophie remained silent.
At this dining table, she felt isolated, as Eva and Christopher Smith were clearly aligned with Oliver Johnson.
"Little Sophie, Mr. Johnson has already apologized, you don’t have to stay angry," Christopher spoke.
Sophie tried to keep her emotions calm before speaking.
"Dad, will you co ho with ? It’s not great for us to keep troubling Mr. Johnson here, right?" As long as Christopher is willing to go back, Oliver Johnson won’t have leverage to threaten her anymore.
"Go back? Go where?" Christopher questioned.
"I can rent a very nice apartnt outside, and find you a very good doctor, don’t worry, it won’t be worse than here."
"I told you, if you can’t do it yourself, too bad. And if you still depend on Asher Land to arrange this, I would rather not!" Christopher stated firmly, "Besides, if I live in the apartnt you rent for , will you stay with ? Asher Land will never let you leave, right?"
"Dad, how can you say that? Of course I’ll stay with you, I’ll visit you every day, take care of you, I’m your daughter, can you trust ?"
Christopher Smith suddenly changed a lot, and Sophie found it hard to accept. Her father used to be accommodating and understanding to her, unlike now, making things difficult for her.
"If you want to leave here, you have to sever ties with Asher Land!"
