The sunlight outside the window filtered in through the curtains, casting specks of light onto the white silky duvet.
The alarm clock went off right on ti, repeatedly ringing.
It was set by Asher Land, ant to get her up for breakfast.
Sophie Smith turned over, stretched out her hand from under the covers, and turned off the alarm before slowly opening her sleepy eyes.
She lingered on the bed for a long ti before getting up.
Even if she doesn’t eat breakfast, the baby needs to.
She pulled open the curtains and stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
Gazing into the distance, with blue skies, white clouds, sunshine, and a gentle breeze, she felt refreshed.
In the blink of an eye, it was already early sumr. She shed her heavy coat and put on a cardigan over a simple long dress.
She lowered her head and gently caressed her protruding belly.
In three months, this child would arrive.
The child belonging to her and Asher Land.
She couldn’t help but smile; in the past few months, she had been so bored at ho that she had already set up the nursery early and bought lots of baby clothes. Although she didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl, she had bought both boy’s and girl’s clothes, just in case.
After breakfast, Sophie strolled around the garden under the watchful eye of a servant who stayed by her side at all tis.
As her belly grew bigger, Asher Land beca more anxious than she did; he instructed that, except for personal matters like sleeping and using the bathroom, the servants must stay by her side at all tis. This made her feel sowhat helpless, but there was nothing she could do; she couldn’t out-stubborn Asher Land.
She should slowly get used to his ’overbearing concern.’
Eva Miller had been insisting on eting her, wanting to see how her belly was doing. Sophie specifically called Asher Land, coaxed him for a long ti, and finally got his permission to go out once, without any servants following her, only a driver was assigned to her.
When Eva Miller saw Sophie, her jaw almost dropped in surprise. She kept looking and touching her belly and even insisted on taking pictures to post on her Monts...
"Eva, don’t ss around!" Sophie snatched her phone and deleted the photos one by one.
"It really is a miraculous thing." After looking at her belly, Eva Miller couldn’t help but exclaim, "How fast ti flies, in the blink of an eye you’re about to beco a mom..."
"Stop standing already." Eva quickly pulled out a chair and let Sophie sit down.
The two chatted for a long ti, both smiling broadly. Eva’s phone vibrated and she got up to take a call outside.
Sophie glanced at the ti and felt it was almost ti to go. If she stayed out much longer, Asher Land would be off work, and if he didn’t see her at ho, he might get very anxious.
After finishing her call, Eva ca back and saw Sophie about to get up, imdiately pressed her back down.
"Well, stay and chat with a bit longer. You see, President Land treasures you so much, he rarely lets you out, afraid that you’ll get hurt. Who knows when I’ll see you next? Maybe not until the baby is born." Eva said with a face full of regret.
Sophie chuckled lightly. She couldn’t help it, so she continued to chat aimlessly with her. About half an hour later, she saw a black sedan driving over.
Oliver Johnson got out of the car and walked toward them.
"Brother Johnson, what a coincidence, how co you’re here?" Eva feigned a look of disbelief.
"Just passing by and happened to see you." Oliver Johnson’s gaze fell on Sophie, then slowly shifted down to rest on her swelling belly.
