The driver’s face showed so panic, unable to stop shivering under the low pressure from Asher Land.
"Miss Smith went out to dinner with friends, she, she told to co back first..."
"With whom?"
"A man, and..."
Before the driver could finish his words, he was violently kicked, leaving him on the ground, crying in pain.
"Young master, don’t be angry. Miss Smith is a sensible person, she..."
"Ha, a sensible person?" he sneered, "If she had any sense, she wouldn’t be this late with a big belly, and wouldn’t ignore the over twenty calls I made to her!" Asher Land was sowhat furious.
In the hall, all the servants were on edge, just hoping Sophie Smith would return ho quickly, or else the young master would tear down the villa.
It was uncertain how much ti had passed when Nanny Garcia noticed a car stopping outside the villa.
"Young master, it seems Miss Smith is back..." Nanny Garcia was about to go out to greet her but was stopped by him.
"Don’t go!"
Nanny Garcia was puzzled. Wasn’t the young master eager for Miss Smith’s return? Why not allow anyone to welco her even when she’s at the door?
When Sophie Smith entered the living room and saw Asher Land sitting on the sofa, she had just thought of approaching him but felt sothing was off with the atmosphere.
The servants were all pale-faced and heads lowered, not even glancing at her when she ca in. The driver who took her out was lying on the ground clutching his belly, the coffee table was overturned, broken items scattered everywhere, and the floor was strewn with glass shards...
Looking again at Asher Land, he leaned against the sofa, with a gloomy face and piercing eyes, seemingly ready to tear soone apart at any mont.
She steadied herself and stepped closer to him.
"I’m back..." she said softly.
"I’m not blind, did I miss seeing you co in?" he snorted coldly.
"..."
The early sumr night was rather cool, even a little cold, and she was only wearing a thin jacket and skirt?
"I’m sorry, ..." she knew, he was definitely angry with her.
She didn’t dare sit beside him, just stood a few steps away.
After perhaps a few seconds, he suddenly stood up.
Sophie Smith reflexively stepped back, tripped on a fruit that had fallen from the table, stumbled, but thankfully Asher Land was quick to catch her.
He shook his head helplessly, picked her up, and headed upstairs.
"Put down..."
"Don’t make noise!" His mood was quite bad.
The servants raised their heads, watching Sophie Smith being carried upstairs by Asher Land, their eyes filled with sympathy.
"Nanny Garcia, will Miss Smith be alright? The young master was so angry, might he take it out on Miss Smith?"
"How could anything happen?" Nanny Garcia sighed, "The young master is just worried about Miss Smith; no matter how angry, it won’t reach her."
Inside the master bedroom.
Sophie Smith sat on the bed, her eyes sowhat frantic, staring at the man standing over her, scrutinizing her from above.
"Who did you have dinner with tonight?"
"Eva and Oliver Johnson."
"Why didn’t you return my calls?"
"Didn’t you say the phone has radiation, and you didn’t want to touch it? So I kept it off and carried it with . I didn’t know you called!" Sophie Smith answered truthfully.
"So even this late, you hadn’t thought to turn it on and make a call to ?"
