Sophie Smith hasn’t gotten out of bed for a long ti.
Every day, she lies on the bed dazedly, spending the whole day like that.
Her belly is getting bigger, and she feels that walking has beco very difficult.
Seeing her like this, Asher Land feels increasingly anxious.
Nanny Garcia brought so mild food. Asher carried it over and fed a bite to her.
She frowned tightly, although she wanted to swallow it, things didn’t go as she wished.
"You haven’t eaten anything during the day. No matter what, you should eat a little at night," Asher said with a hint of helplessness.
"Can I just drink water?" She looked at him with pleading eyes.
He didn’t want to force her, but her current health condition is concerning.
Without thinking much, Asher called Doctor Lewis over again; Doctor Lewis was already a frequent visitor here.
"She hasn’t wanted to eat recently, and she doesn’t want to get out of bed or move around. Is there sothing wrong with her health?"
In the hall, Asher asked seriously.
"Mr. Land, actually it’s normal for pregnant won to experience nausea and not want to eat, but you ntioned Miss Smith doesn’t want to be active either; I’m afraid it’s a psychological issue."
"Psychological issue?" Asher raised his eyebrows and asked.
"Miss Smith is emotionally down, feeling suppressed, and naturally, she’s in a state of exhaustion, unwilling to eat or move around. Over ti, it might even..."
"Even what?"
"Even develop depression..." Doctor Lewis said softly, not raising his head to et Asher Land’s unpleasant expression.
Depression?
He suddenly felt very sad; how many happy days have he and she truly spent together?
Before they admitted their feelings for each other, they both had a hard ti. Now that they’re finally together, he was beginning to enjoy the feeling of being in love with her, but now...
He rubbed his aching temples, falling into silence.
...
The phone rang in the silent room; however, the phone was placed on the desk, a distance away from the bed, so Sophie Smith had no intention of getting out of bed to answer it.
But the caller didn’t seem to hang up, causing her a vague sense of irritation.
With no choice, she walked over and picked up the phone.
It was Eva Miller.
"Sophie, are you... are you feeling better?"
"I’m okay." She responded briefly and returned to lie back on the bed.
"Oh..." Eva responded hesitantly, speaking haltingly, "Sophie, could you co out for a bit? I have sothing I want to discuss with you..."
"Eva, what requires talking face-to-face? Can’t it be said over the phone?"
"No, it’s hard to explain over the phone. Please, Sophie, can you co out?"
She actually didn’t want to move, but she couldn’t help it; Eva is her best friend. How could she bear to refuse?
"Wait for , I’ll co out once I change clothes."
"Okay." Eva answered and then hung up the phone.
Just at that mont, Asher Land ca upstairs.
Seeing her changing clothes, he was sowhat puzzled.
"It’s quite late, are you going sowhere?" he asked.
"Eva wants to discuss sothing with , could you take to et her?"
Although it’s late, Asher thought she hadn’t gotten out of bed for a few days. It’s rare she wants to go out and et friends and clear her mind. This is a good thing, so he agreed without hesitation.
