The look of pain on Nolan Davis’s face was evident. Sophie Smith felt that she had been too heavy-handed. Without thinking much, she hurriedly wrapped her robe around herself and got out of bed to help him up from the floor.
"I’m sorry, I... I’ll go call the doctor right away..." With that, she was about to walk out.
"Wait." He grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
"You want the whole Davis Family to see like this?" Nolan Davis shook his head helplessly. He really had been defeated by a woman this ti; forcing things didn’t work, and he ended up getting hit.
He stood up, picked up his clothes from the floor, and dressed himself neatly, though the blood on his face still made him look a bit disheveled.
"I’m sorry, Mr. Davis, I really didn’t an to..." She lowered her head, her voice getting quieter.
"Heh, never mind, it was just self-defense. If soone tries to assault you, you naturally have to resist." He deliberately emphasized the word "assault."
Maybe there had been too much commotion in the room, as Amanda, who had been waiting outside the door, sensed sothing was wrong and knocked tentatively twice on the door.
"Mr. Davis, Miss Smith?"
Nolan Davis looked at her, who was clearly frightened, and felt a bit guilty in his heart. Tonight, he had indeed been too impulsive.
"Tonight’s incident should have saying sorry, don’t worry, in the future, I won’t force you again." With that, he turned and walked out.
As the door opened, Amanda’s startled cry was sowhat piercing.
"Ah, Mr. Davis, what happened to you? I’ll go call the doctor over!"
"I’m fine." He glanced back at the ss in the room and couldn’t help but frown, "Go call soone to clean the room first, Miss Smith still needs to rest."
"But..."
"Go call soone to clean the room first!"
Impatiently leaving that statent, he went towards his master bedroom.
He walked into the room and turned around to lock the door behind him.
Finding the first aid kit, he approached the mirror, took out a cotton swab, and started treating the wound on his forehead.
A sharp pain spread instantly, and even though he was a man, he couldn’t help but yelp in pain.
"Little Sophie, Little Sophie, you’re truly ruthless..." He shook his head, muttering to himself.
But, he thought, it was purely self-inflicted today; he really shouldn’t have forced her.
Suddenly, the door was knocked, and he assud it was Amanda.
"I’m fine now, I’m handling the wound myself, no need to call the doctor over."
"Mr. Davis, it’s ..." Sophie Smith responded cautiously.
Nolan Davis was a bit hesitant but still went over and opened the door.
She was holding a basin, with steam still rising from it, and a white dry towel in her hand.
"What do you want to do? Aren’t you afraid I might attempt sothing inappropriate again?" He raised a corner of his mouth slightly, indeed, she was still too kind.
She didn’t answer him, walked into his room, and put the basin down.
"I’ll help you treat the wound, it might be inconvenient for you alone."
She looked up and noticed his gaze was fixed straight on her, to be honest, she was still a little nervous.
He sat silently on the sofa.
Sophie Smith soaked the towel in hot water for a while, took it out, and wrung it dry.
She carefully wiped the bloodstains off his face with the towel, it really looked painful.
Not long ago, he was the one wiping her body, and in a blink of an eye, the patient had beco him.
"Don’t hit the face next ti, okay?" He slightly curved his lips, joking with her.
