"Mr. Davis, this kind of thing can’t happen a second ti..." she said seriously.
"Alright, next ti I won’t force you, I want you to willingly give yourself to ." Nolan Davis had a hint of stubbornness in his eyes, and Sophie Smith couldn’t understand why he was so fixated on having her, when he clearly knew that her heart only belonged to Asher Land.
Sophie didn’t refute him; today she had accidentally hurt him so badly, it was indeed her fault, but who asked him to do such things?
After treating his wounds, it was already quite late.
"You should rest early, good night." After Sophie finished speaking, she cleaned up the ss left from handling the wound, embraced the basin, and turned to walk out.
He helplessly curled his lips, lying flat on the bed.
That’s how fate is, he thought, if he could have t her earlier, wouldn’t things have been different?
Even so, being able to et her was still good, although their relationship was still sowhat distant.
...
Sophie lay in bed, tossing and turning for a long ti without falling asleep.
The wounds on her body were still tornting her, each movent brought her imnse pain, yet she couldn’t control it.
"Asher Land..." she couldn’t help but murmur his na, wishing he were by her side now; perhaps she wouldn’t feel so much pain then.
Her mind recalled what Nolan Davis had said to her.
He said, everyone should learn to weigh the pros and cons; staying by his side, you won’t have a good life, but I, Nolan Davis, can promise you, as long as you’re with , I won’t let you suffer any pain or grievance.
She’s not afraid of any pain or grievances; as long as she can be with him, it’s already enough.
...
Early the next morning.
Sophie sat by the dining table waiting for a long ti, yet Nolan Davis hadn’t co down.
"Amanda, why hasn’t Mr. Davis co down for breakfast yet?" She rembered a servant saying Nolan Davis usually dined on ti, usually at 7:50 in the morning, but now she checked her watch—it was already 8:15.
"Miss Smith..." Amanda glanced at her disapprovingly, then pointed at her own forehead.
Initially, Sophie didn’t understand, but later realized Amanda was referring to the incident of her injuring Nolan Davis yesterday.
"Miss Smith, Mr. Davis treats you very well, you shouldn’t have done that to him." Amanda spoke in her broken Chinese, word by word.
Although Nolan Davis didn’t say it was Sophie’s fault, nor did he say she injured him, Amanda was perceptive; last night he had been fine, and then when he ca out of Sophie’s room, his head was covered in blood. He couldn’t possibly have hit his own head.
Sophie knew, from Amanda’s expression, she must be angry with her; normally Amanda was quite nice to her. When Sophie couldn’t find anyone to talk to at the Davis Family, only Amanda would actively chat with her, but now...
"Sorry, Amanda."
Sophie apologized to her, realizing that whether with Asher Land or Nolan Davis, there would always be one or more loyal defenders around them. For example, with Asher Land, there were Robert Williams and Nanny Garcia, while for Nolan Davis, there was Amanda.
Alas, in their eyes, she was seem to be nothing more than a fem fatale.
Sophie felt a bit aggrieved herself, she lowered her head and stopped talking to Amanda.
