The room was deathly silent.
Luke Land thought it over but still didn’t dare to speak again.
Sophie Smith looked at Asher Land’s face, now tinged with anger, and slightly raised the corners of her lips.
"I see your fever has gone down, you should be fine now, I’ll head back first, you should get so rest."
"Can you not leave today?" He wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing his chin against her forehead, "I’m still not well, I feel uncomfortable all over. Stay here for a while, and leave once I’m better?"
"Stop it." She removed the large hands wrapped around her waist, "If I stay here, what about Irene and your father? And Alexander is still at the Davis Family, what about that?"

"I’m leaving." After saying that, without waiting for Asher Land to say anything, she swiftly disappeared from his sight. He wanted to follow, but his steps were so unsteady that he could hardly stand firm.
"Third Brother, you rest for a while, I’ll go see them off." Seeing Eva Miller following Sophie Smith out, Luke Land imdiately decided to go after them.
Sophie got into the car Luke Land had brought them in, sitting in the passenger seat, while Eva, a step behind, opened the door and sat in the driver’s seat.
"Eva..." Sophie was a bit puzzled, "Luke Land will take us back."
"Don’t ntion that jerk to !" Eva’s face looked awful. Luke hadn’t taken the car keys, so after a brief search, she found them.
She started the car.
"Hey, open the door!" Luke impatiently knocked on the window on Eva’s side, he still had a score to settle with her. Was she planning to sneak off like this?
"Open it yourself, you jerk!"
Eva ignored him and drove Luke’s car out of the Land Family’s place, leaving Luke standing there, stomping his feet in frustration.
In his thirty years, he got played by a little girl again?
"Eva, what exactly happened with you and Second Brother?"
It was clearly Eva and Luke Land’s first eting, but it seed like the two had deep-seated enmity from a previous life.
"That bastard bullied ." Eva’s eyes were red, "Wasn’t it just a few words we exchanged before coming to see President Land? He’s petty and tried to assault ."
"What? Assault?" Sophie looked at Eva in shock, "Eva, you’re not joking with , right?"
"No."
"Did he... succeed?" Sophie clenched her fists. If Luke Land really did that to Eva, she wouldn’t let him off!
No, she wouldn’t let Asher Land let him off.
"Hmph, do you think I would let him succeed?" Eva’s initially dark expression imdiately lightened. Thinking of Luke Land’s face twisted in agony, she couldn’t help but curl her lips.
Sophie rembered the injuries on Luke Land’s face and seeing Eva’s smug expression now, her concern for Eva shifted instantly to Luke Land.
"What... what did you do to him?"
"I almost crippled his, you know, to see if he can still look at won with those thoughts!" Eva humd a little tune, the image of Luke Land’s distorted face vividly in her mind, making her feel vindicated.
"That kind of man, obviously he’s used to flirting around outside, let him suffer a bit, otherwise he’d think he’s sothing special."
"But Eva, are you really sure this is the right way to handle it?" Sophie felt deeply worried about Eva’s future days.
