When Eva Miller returned to the Davis Family ho, Sophie Smith was holding her phone and making calls nonstop.
"Eva, you’re finally back." It was already very late, and Sophie had waited a long ti for Eva Miller to return. She had no idea where she went, so she blindly kept calling her. Who knew that after calling for so long, Eva wouldn’t answer and eventually switched off her phone altogether.
"Why didn’t you answer my calls? Where’s your phone?"
"Don’t even ntion it." Eva’s face was troubled too. "My phone got smashed by Luke Land."
"Luke Land?" Sophie was a bit surprised. "Why are you involved with him again?"
"I don’t want to be." Eva pouted. "Who knows why that man won’t leave alone? Just thinking about it makes angry!"
"Oh, right!" Eva seed to rember sothing. "Sophie, can you talk to President Land and tell him to ask his brother not to bother anymore!"
"You want to talk to Asher Land?" Sophie was half-skeptical. "Will that work?"
"It will, definitely!" Eva was very confident, she greatly trusted Asher Land. "Hurry, I need you to call President Land right now and explain this to him!"
Eva was truly eager to shake off Luke Land, who’s beco such a hot potato. Although she dodged trouble today, she feared she wouldn’t be so lucky in the future.
Under Eva’s persistent urging, Sophie had no choice but to call Asher Land.
"Hello."
The phone was answered, and Asher Land’s voice sounded quite amused.
"Are you over your cold? Are you still running a fever?"
"Much better." He said, but Sophie could still faintly hear him coughing.
"Missed ?" Asher chuckled lightly. "I’ll co to see you in a few days. Lately, there’s been a lot to handle with the Land Family and the company."
"Hmm." Sophie wanted to say sothing else, but she caught Eva casting her a disdainful look. What’s this? They’re only interested in being lovey-dovey. Who wants to watch them flaunt their affection here?
"Sophie..." Eva tugged cautiously at Sophie’s sleeve, hinting at her.
"Oh..." Sophie cleared her throat. "Asher Land, I have sothing to talk with you about."
"What is it?"
"Um, can you talk to your brother, ask him not to bother Eva anymore?"
Bother?
Asher Land’s lips twitched; he didn’t quite know how to respond. Luke Land seed quite interested in Eva Miller, yet Sophie telling him to ask his brother to stop bothering Eva was indeed a dilemma for him.
"My brother is actually quite nice. Why don’t you let him and Miss Miller try getting to know each other? Maybe Miss Miller will change her opinion of my brother?"
Sophie glanced at Eva, who quickly shook her head in fright.
"No way, Eva doesn’t feel anything for your brother. Besides, your brother is quite the flirt; I can’t trust Eva with him. So, no matter what, you must make it clear to your brother that Eva is different from the girls he usually hangs out with."
Sophie spoke a lot, and Eva nodded in appreciative agreent.
"Different? How is she different?" Asher Land paused for a mont. "Although he might not marry her, he would definitely treat her well."
"Absolutely not!" Sophie was also firm, "If you don’t agree, then, then you shouldn’t co looking for anyti soon."
"..."
Asher Land remained silent for a long ti, finally sparingly uttering a single ’Okay’.
