Nolan Davis stared at Sophie Smith, who had been standing at the door for a long ti, his self-mocking smile deepening little by little.
"Little Sophie, I finally understand what makes you so happy," Nolan Davis said as he leisurely got up and walked towards her. His strong, tall figure imposed a heavy sense of pressure on her.
This man always appeared gentlemanly and refined, but if provoked, he could beco a formidable beast,
although Sophie Smith wasn’t sure if his previous anger, expressed by throwing his phone, was caused by her.
"Mr. Davis, is it wrong for to smile happily?" Sophie said sullenly, lowering her head. "If you don’t like it, I won’t smile then..."
"Seeing you smile, I would wish for nothing more, but..." He paused, his eyebrows furrowing deeply, "but if it’s because of Asher Land, I’d rather pretend not to see it."

Sophie Smith was at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond to Nolan Davis.
"Nathan Land is dead." He was certain she knew about this.
Sophie looked up, but soon lowered her gaze again.
"I know."
"So between you and him, there’s no restraint, you can be together without any worries, right?" he asked bleakly.
Tonight, Nolan Davis’s words completely left her defenseless, and she remained silent.
"Oh, no, I just rembered, there’s still quite a lot of restraint between you," Nolan Davis suddenly said, and Sophie looked up in surprise.

To be honest, Sophie tacitly agreed with Nolan Davis’s earlier words, that Nathan Land was their greatest restraint. With him dead, she could be with Asher Land. But what did Nolan Davis an with his sudden remark?
"I am the restraint between you, do you understand?" He curved his lips in an elegantly natural manner. "I won’t let go easily."
"Mr. Davis, at this point, are you still unwilling to let us be?" Sophie spoke humbly. "I really don’t want to be apart from Asher anymore, I..."
