Her intuition told her that Asher Land must have had an accident.
Otherwise, Nolan Davis and Eva Miller’s actions wouldn’t be so strange.
She threw the blanket aside and tried to get out of bed; Nolan Davis and Eva Miller hadn’t reacted yet when Sophie Smith fell onto the cold floor.
"Are you crazy!" Nolan Davis lowered his voice and shouted at her.
Eva Miller’s handbag was just placed on a chair not far away, Sophie Smith almost crawled over to get her bag in her hands.
She clumsily opened the bag and took out the phone from it.
She quickly dialed Asher Land’s phone number, putting the phone to her ear; however, all she heard was the repeated busy signal.
She impatiently dialed again and again; Nolan Davis and Eva Miller stood beside her, not stopping her but their expressions were sowhat grave.
Unable to reach Asher Land, she dug out Luke Land’s phone number from Eva Miller’s phone, hesitated no more and dialed it imdiately.
"Hello, Little Chili..." Luke Land’s voice sounded hoarse and sowhat absent-minded.
"Second brother, it’s Sophie Smith. Where is Asher Land now? I need to see him." Sophie Smith spoke word by word.
"Sophie Smith, you’re awake?" Luke Land’s voice instantly changed to one of surprise, "How are you feeling? Much better, right."
"Second brother, I don’t want you to tell these things. I need you to tell , where is Asher Land now?"
"Third brother, he..." Luke Land hesitated.
Suddenly, the call was cut off, and when Sophie Smith tried to call again, it beca a busy signal.
Her heart plumted into an endless abyss; she held the phone sitting on the cold ground, despair washing over her.
She flipped through Eva Miller’s phone once again, but the date that caught her eye...
The date now was exactly twenty-four days past the accident!
She had been in a coma for so long, and during this ti, she had lost all contact with Asher Land.
"Please, tell , is Asher Land dead or alive?" Her voice carried a hint of desolation, "Do you think hiding it from is good for ? No, not good at all!"
Her chest heaved violently, her breath was sowhat rapid.
Nolan Davis shook his head, picked her up from the ground and gently placed her on the bed.
"Little Sophie, calm down."
"Are you telling ? How can I calm down?" Her voice was sowhat piercing, "You intend to hide everything from , right? This makes feel worse than death. Without him, I’d rather die!"
Eva Miller’s face turned pale, clearly frightened by Sophie Smith’s words.
What does it an that without him, she’d rather die?
"Sophie Smith, listen to clearly!" Eva Miller stepped in front of her, looking serious, enunciating each word clearly, "You’re lucky to be alive, Nolan Davis and I have spent countless efforts to wake you up, staying up night and day without rest. What right do you have to say you’ll just die like that?"
Eva Miller’s voice unconsciously raised, eventually shouting out, "Yes, President Land is your sky, your earth, but what about us? What are Nolan Davis and I to you? Do you not consider our feelings at all?"
"If I tell you now that President Land is dead, does that an you’d imdiately seek death, right?" Eva Miller clenched her hands into fists, nails digging into her palms, drawing traces of blood, "Sophie Smith, I’m telling you, if you want to die, I’ll die with you!"
