Awkward Man (Part Three)
Alexander nearly sprinted towards Nolan Davis.
Sophie Smith and Asher Land also looked in his direction, where Nolan Davis stood in a white shirt, black trousers, holding a KFC bag...
Nolan Davis picked up Alexander, and was just about to head towards Sophie Smith when his gaze shifted, spotting the man standing next to her.
His heart was instantly overwheld by turbulent emotions, but within seconds, he composed himself.
"Third Young Master Land, long ti no see." Nolan Davis’s lips curved slightly, and all the shock he felt was quickly concealed.
"Mr. Davis, it certainly has been a long ti."
He couldn’t believe Nolan Davis had such a skill, that he could manage his son so well-behaved?
Sophie Smith truly felt the situation was a bit awkward; she hadn’t expected Nolan Davis to appear here, otherwise, she absolutely wouldn’t have brought Asher Land over.
Alexander liked Nolan Davis but wasn’t fond of Asher Land...
Just thinking about it gave Sophie Smith a headache.
"Earlier, Alexander said he was hungry, so I went to buy so food." Nolan Davis put Alexander down and handed him the food he bought, "I won’t disturb you anymore."
With that, he turned to leave.
"Uncle Davis, where are you going? Why don’t you co to our house for dinner tonight? My mom’s cooking."
Sophie Smith was ntally groaning; Alexander really didn’t realize his own father’s temper was about to erupt?
Fortunately, Nolan Davis was still a sensible person.
"Uncle Davis has work at the company that isn’t finished yet. Maybe next ti I’ll co to your house and try your mom’s cooking."
"Alright then..." Alexander seed a bit disappointed.
Even when Nolan Davis walked away and disappeared, Alexander hadn’t snapped back to reality.
"Alexander..." Sophie Smith attempted to shift her son’s attention to Asher Land.
"Mom, what’s wrong?" Seeing Sophie Smith looking as if she wanted to say sothing but couldn’t, the clever Alexander seed to sense sothing.
"What do you want to tell ?"
Should she directly tell him that the man standing in front of him is his father?
Could Alexander handle it?
"Mom, I was wrong this ti." Alexander thought Sophie Smith was going to bla him for calling Nolan Davis over, "I’ve been waiting for you to pick up, it was boring, so I called Uncle Davis to co and keep company for an hour, I won’t do that again."
Alexander sincerely apologized, "I won’t bother Uncle Davis anymore, okay?"
"Alexander, mom isn’t trying to bla you; just know that Uncle Davis is very busy every day, managing a big company, so next ti please be careful not to call him out during office hours, okay?"
Asher Land stood coldly by, watching the mother and son, feeling like an outsider who couldn’t even get a word in.
He truly felt like a failure.
Sophie Smith noticed the change in Asher Land’s mood, his face showing so defeat.
"Alexander, this is your..."
She had just wanted to introduce Asher Land to Alexander, but was interrupted by Asher Land.
"Don’t say it yet."
"Hmm?" Sophie Smith was a bit surprised; if not now, then when?
But she didn’t dare defy Asher Land’s words.
He thought, maybe it would take a while, a process, for the child to adjust to his identity; it could only be gradual, after all, he had been absent during these years of his growth.
