Back to the apartnt?
Asher Land’s hand holding the knife and fork stiffened slightly when he heard these three words.
"Didn’t we agree? You’d leave after your foot injury heals."
His tone had actually softened quite a bit.
"I don’t think my foot injury is a big deal, it’s just a bit swollen. If you don’t have ti today, I can drive back myself later, it won’t be a problem..."
"Sophie." His faint sigh reached her ears, "For my sake, let’s reconcile... can we?"
He truly didn’t want to continue like this with her. Why do two people have to tornt each other and live in such agony?
"Asher Land,..."
Sophie forced a difficult smile, "Do you know, as long as you don’t deal with Irene’s issues, I will resolutely not return to your side."
Her eyes were full of helplessness.
"This ti, Senior Brother saved my life, but if I stay with you, Irene will never let it go. Perhaps next ti, she will do the sa. She just wants dead. Ha, dying doesn’t matter. I just hope she won’t target those close to ..."
When she said this, it carried a hint of despair, a sense of disillusionnt.
Asher Land threw the knife and fork in his hand onto the table, making a crisp sound.
Sophie knew that his heart was definitely feeling bad too.
She had once imagined, if she were in his position, what would she do? How would she handle the relationship between him and Irene?
It’s truly difficult.
After breakfast, Sophie saw Asher Land still sitting there indifferent. She didn’t say much, just stood up, pulled out the chair, and walked outside.
He followed her.
Before her hand could touch the car door, a slender hand pressed it down.
"Asher..."
"I’ll take you."
Sophie was startled; she had intended to say more to him but upon hearing this, she quietly lowered her head.
Just as she was about to walk to the passenger side, she looked up and a red sports car caught her eye.
Irene?
Asher Land saw her frozen in place and followed her gaze...
A sudden bad premonition surged in his heart.
Irene wore a black off-shoulder long dress, with long curly hair. Her small face was mostly covered by sunglasses, her lips smiling, as she walked towards Sophie and Asher Land, full of spring-like charm.
Asher Land turned his head and saw Sophie’s small face suddenly beco pale and ghastly.
Her thin fra was trembling.
Irene removed her sunglasses, saw Sophie standing there, and had a mont of surprise, but only just a mont.
She seed to have no guilt in her heart towards Sophie, as if everything Sophie had suffered was deserved, and what she had done was just a matter of course.
"Brother Asher."
Irene approached Asher Land and looked up at his stern face.
"Haven’t seen you for a long ti, are you free for lunch today?"
Irene deliberately ignored Sophie standing aside, her lips carrying a sickeningly sweet smile.
All of this was done deliberately for Sophie to see, she knew she still held a place in Asher Land’s heart.
For her, he even fell out with Sophie, didn’t he?
Thinking of this, in Sophie’s presence, she suddenly felt a sense of victorious triumph.
