Avoidance?
Asher Land’s lips curled into a terrifying smile. At this mont, was it his turn to say such words?
Ha, it’s truly a colossal joke.
The man in the police uniform was well-intentioned; he was rely worried that Asher Land couldn’t accept Sophie Smith’s current appearance even for a short while.
He stood in front of Asher Land, at a loss.
"Get out of the way!" Asher Land grabbed the man’s collar fiercely and pushed him aside.
He strode toward the crowd, with Robert Williams quickening his pace, walking ahead to disperse the people for him.
He hadn’t completely approached when he was overwheld by the pungent sll of blood.
His steps suddenly halted.
"President Land..." Seeing Asher Land stop, Robert Williams roughly understood the reason.
He felt that each step forward was a struggle for him.
The people gathered around Sophie Smith now all shared looks of sympathy and fear; they bowed their heads and stepped aside to clear a path for Asher Land.
Sophie Smith...
He called her na over and over in his heart. When she fully entered his sight, it felt like his world was struck by lightning, leaving his mind blank...
She lay on the yellow mud, from afar looking calm, like a corpse, with no pulse.
Puddles of water nearby were stained red by the yellow mud; her body was soaked, swollen severely, with scratches from branches and stones on her arms and face. Her clothing was disheveled, one shoe missing...
Under everyone’s watchful gaze, he used all his strength to move forward. He walked over, trembling, draping his coat over her body, then lifted her.
He held her stiff body like that, for a long ti.
Actually, it wasn’t long, only two or three minutes, but for him, each mont felt like an eternity.
"President Land, ti is running out, Sophie Smith needs to be taken to the hospital..."
Robert Williams spoke from beside him.

"How did this happen? Sophie Smith, don’t die, I don’t want you to die..."
Eva Miller curled up in agony on the floor, hugging her knees and weeping.
"Enough, Little Chili..." Luke Land tried to pull her away since everyone was already troubled, and the surgery had been going for three or four hours. Eva Miller’s crying clearly added to the chaos.
Luke Land’s gaze shifted to Asher Land’s side, where he saw Asher’s tall figure leaning against the wall, crouched on the floor, head bowed, looking thin and haggard overnight.
