"Brother Johnson,..." Eva Miller spoke, her voice trembling a bit, unsure why she was nervous.
"It’s so late, why are you still wandering outside?"
Oliver Johnson knew Eva was following Sophie Smith out, but he didn’t expose her.
"Oh, just passing by."
Both were just playing dumb.
"Well, Miss Miller, if you don’t have anything else, I’ll be leaving now."
Eva couldn’t understand why Oliver always had this indifferent attitude toward her, especially when she had seen him smile at Sophie. Did he really dislike her that much?
"Brother Johnson, what exactly did I do wrong for you to act so dismissively toward ?" Eva’s voice unintentionally grew louder, "Can’t you see my genuine feelings for you?"
Genuine feelings?
Oliver’s lips curled into a self-deprecating smile, "Miss Miller, put away those genuine feelings. I’m not worthy."
Eva clasped her hands behind her back, gripping harder, her nails digging into her flesh, yet she felt no pain.
For the past four or five years, she hadn’t been able to forget him. Finally finding him was t with such cold detachnt.
"Brother Johnson, I just want to ask you one question." Eva lowered her head, seemingly gathering great courage, then looked up again, speaking each word clearly, "When you slept with back then, did you only see as a bed partner? Did you have no feelings for at all?"
Oliver’s body stiffened, clearly not expecting Eva to be so blunt.
Eva was wonderful, but only by staying away from him would she be better off.
He was a man who had just gotten out of prison, not soone she should idolize or look up to.
The current Oliver Johnson was no longer the young master of the Hush Sky Group, with no power or influence, akin to a walking corpse.
"Brother Johnson, answer ..." Seeing Oliver’s silent contemplation, so hope still lingered in Eva’s heart.
"I thought, Miss Miller, you understood my intentions back then." Oliver slowly approached her, lowering his head, a hint of playfulness in his eyes, "Didn’t we agree before we slept together that it was just for our physical needs, with no emotions involved?"
Oliver’s words instantly shattered Eva’s heart.
"If Miss Miller, you still have physical needs, I, Oliver Johnson, can still satisfy you."
He didn’t mind being a complete jerk, making her give up all thoughts about him.
Eva bit her lip, her whole body trembling uncontrollably, feeling engulfed by a chilling coldness. She raised her eyes, looking at the gentlemanly man before her, hardly believing such cruel words ca from him.
"Oliver Johnson."
For the first ti, she called him by his full na, her face showing none of the usual timidity as she fearlessly t his gaze.
"Yes, I, Eva Miller, am being shaless. I have physical needs now, you satisfy then?"
Her voice was sowhat shrill, as if she had been greatly provoked.
"Miss Miller, calm down."
"Didn’t you just say it? If I have physical needs, you can satisfy ? What now, aren’t you keeping your word?" Eva felt like a shaless, unreasonable lunatic, but it was all because Oliver forced her.
