A portal opened in a forest area just outside the walls of Argento Kingdom. The first one to appear out of the portal was Lycan and he imdiately scouted the periter. Solstice ca out next followed by so vampire guards that will be stationed to inform the others. Adrian appeared last and closed the portal.
The vampires that ca with Solstice were mostly the espionage unit of the Edelblud family. As soon as they arrived near the Argento Kingdom border, the espionage unit dispersed as they needed to get so information from the human spies they have in the kingdom. Lycan returned to see Adrian has changed to a more human form. Solstice also gave instructions to the two mbers of the espionage unit that stayed with her.
"This land feels different." Adrian stated as he can feel that sothing was amiss, but he does not know what exactly.
"You can read feng shui? I thought you said that your brother is more on the technological side." Lycan stated.
"It is not feng shui or any mystic crap. I ant it literally as the soil itself in this kingdom seems tainted with sothing. Even the air tastes like stale bread which is not pleasant since I have my settings for taste at max." Adrian stated as he could feel the essence of life in the area.
"Let us hurry and get in. I have received word that several young maidens from the slums are now missing." Solstice stated as she finished speaking with one of the vampire espionage unit mbers.
"Shall we sneak in when night cos?" Lycan asked as they could easily jump the large wall they could see in the distance.
"We could use the front door." Adrian pointed out as they are perfectly disguised.
"Sorry about that. He has watched too much spy movies lately. He wanted to be a number or sothing." Solstice stated as she started to walk to the main road.
"Spies are cool though." Lycan replied.
"I am not saying it is not cool. I am just giving him the context of why you are giving those ideas. I already told you, but my brother prefers common sense when dealing with people. He finds it tiring trying to read other people. He is good at it, but he hates it for so reason." Solstice stated.
"So, you two are that close." Adrian added as they already reached the main road after a few seconds of sprinting.
"Why do you an by that brother-in-law?" Lycan asked playfully.
"If my sister starts to gossip about then that ans she is serious." Adrian replied.
"How do you know that?" Lycan asked as he suddenly beca curious.
"I an... you are not the first guy she dated. Did you really think soone that drop dead gorgeous would not have any admirers? You have seen her in real life, and I know you have seen the stares she gets. Anyways, just make sure to follow her lead most of the ti or else I might see you in the news in a ditch sowhere." Adrian playfully replied but Lycan suddenly paused.
"You are joking, right?" Lycan asked quietly as he followed close to Adrian.
"The always follow her part was the joke as she likes to be pampered by soone she loves. The ditch part... well... I will leave that to your observation skills." Adrian stated with a smile while patting Lycan’s shoulder.
The three of them arrived at the gate of Argento Kingdom fairly quick as their walking pace was twice as fast as a normal human’s. The line was not as long as one would think as the town proper of the kingdom was not as full of people. One could see that sothing happened recently which made the atmosphere inside of it be a bit heavy.
"I thought that the Crazed Blood Queen’s massacre happened a while ago. Why are the people in this kingdom a bit on edge." Adrian stated via the chats.
"The first prince just died from the complications of a sickness he got from the ti the Crazed Blood Queen Akasha was unsealed. He was very loved by the people of this land which is why they are not in a very bright mood right now. Anyways, we should head to the slums as that is the area where most of the disappearances were reported." Solstice stated.
"I can feel a lot of eyes staring at us though. Is our cover already blown?" Adrian asked as he can feel the gazes of nurous people.
"You two really need to rethink your disguises sotis. Maybe a cloth hiding your faces would be a better disguise." Lycan stated.
"What do you an by that?" Solstice asked innocently.
"Is there sothing wrong with my face? I made sure to look as plain as possible and made my clothes look ordinary." Adrian stated.
"Both of you have sothing wrong with your faces." Lycan stated.
"Really?" Adrian asked as he touched his face.
"Why? Is there sothing stuck on it?" Solstice asked as she also touched her face.
"Are you guys playing dumb or making feel bad?" Lycan added.
"Huh?" Both Adrian and Solstice exclaid as they have no idea what Lycan is implying.
"The two of you walking together is garnering too much attention because of your faces. You two look like nobles trying to disguise themselves as commoners. Seriously, both of you should get the sa stares in real life as well. Both of your face cards could sha a Hollywood artist." Lycan stated.
"Really? I barely put any points in my charisma stat." Adrian stated as his charisma stat is literally below ten points.
"There is a charisma stat?" Solstice added which made Lycan face palm but also smile inside as he did not know how he landed such a beautiful girl.
"I think I used up all my luck in life." Lycan thought to himself while eerie gazes could be seen observing Solstice from their group.
