"Damn..."
Leon’s eyes narrowed as he processed everything at once, focusing only on what mattered most, ignoring the rest entirely.
The drop in [Combat Power] was clear, [Celestial’s Might] had worked.
But even then... It wasn’t enough.
This wasn’t just another enemy. This was a boss.
And that ant that even at equal, or even lower, combat power, it would still be far stronger than anything Leon had faced so far.
Still... It gave him sothing. A chance. Even if it was small.
But before Leon could act on that...
Clang!
The general suddenly raised its shield and struck it with its sword, the sound echoing through the entire street like a signal.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Again. And again.
Forsaken Call!
Leon’s eyes widened as realization hit him instantly, the aning behind that action becoming painfully clear.
It was summoning sothing. Sothing that even the general itself deed necessary to call now.
"...You’ve got to be kidding ... That thing can summon too?!’
The air around them grew heavier, darker, as if sothing beyond his understanding was beginning to stir.
And in that mont, Leon felt it clearly. If he stayed here any longer... He would die.
Leon reacted instantly the mont that realization settled in his mind.
He turned around without hesitation as he forced his body into motion, sprinting away from the [Forsaken General] with everything he had.
His feet barely touched the ground before he leapt upward toward the nearest building, grabbing onto a broken ledge and pulling himself up in one smooth motion.
Imdiately transitioning into a full sprint across the rooftop as he summoned the [World Map] mid-run, his eyes scanning it rapidly while maintaining his speed, searching for the fastest and safest path back to the base.
The map displayed the route clearly, marking the "Player Base" with the sa flag icon he had noticed earlier.
And while that should have been reassuring, Leon’s expression only darkened slightly as a different thought surfaced in his mind.
One that forced him to reconsider his next move even as he kept running.
He knew that leading the [Forsaken General] directly back to the base could put the others in danger.
And even though he had only just t them, he had already seen enough to understand that they were far from weak, having survived in this place for years while continuously growing stronger.
Which ant that if they fought together, they could most likely defeat the general in its current weakened state.
However, that possibility ca with a risk that Leon couldn’t ignore.
Because his passive, [Celestial’s Might], had only activated under specific conditions, and those conditions clearly revolved around the fight being unfair in his disadvantage.
aning that if four powerful players suddenly joined him against a weakened boss, the system might no longer consider the situation unbalanced.
If that happened, then the suppression on the general’s [Combat Power] could disappear instantly, restoring it to its original strength.
And in that scenario, Leon didn’t even need to think twice to understand the outco.
Because a fully powered [Forsaken General] would be far beyond what any of them could handle, no matter how strong they were.
That was the dilemma he was facing.
His thoughts racing alongside his movents while his expression remained cold and focused.
At the sa ti, he rembered what the others had said about the monsters of the [Forsaken City].
Specifically that they didn’t stray too far from the area surrounding the [Forsaken Castle].
And while he wasn’t entirely sure how accurate that information was, it still gave him a possible way out.
If he could create enough distance between himself and the center of the city, then there was a chance that the general would stop chasing him.
’Or... I’ll have to kill it.’
Unfortunately, before he could fully commit to that plan, sothing else happened.
A loud tallic sound echoed through the air, followed by another, and then another.
Until the entire area seed to be filled with the constant clanging of armor.
It was a sound that didn’t co from a single direction but from all around him, spreading across the rooftops and the streets below like a signal.
Leon’s eyes widened slightly as he continued moving, turning his head just enough to catch glimpses of what was happening around him.
And what he saw imdiately confird his worst suspicion.
The [Forsaken Knights] were moving in large numbers, climbing up buildings, rushing through streets, and converging toward his location from every direction.
It didn’t take long for him to realize that this wasn’t just a small group.
The number of knights kept increasing with every passing second, as dozens quickly beca hundreds, forming a moving wall of enemies.
Despite that, Leon didn’t stop running.
Stopping now would only guarantee that he would be surrounded completely.
And once that happened, escaping would beco nearly impossible.
Especially with the [Forsaken General] still chasing him from behind with a speed that steadily reduced the distance between them.
He could feel it clearly, that presence growing closer, heavier, more oppressive with every second.
And when he glanced back briefly, he saw the massive figure moving across the rooftops with terrifying efficiency.
Its agility was far beyond his, making it clear that outrunning it through speed alone wasn’t going to be enough.
"...No...Escape..."
That was why Leon continued to attack even as he ran, turning his upper body just enough to cast spells behind him while maintaining his forward montum.
He was unleashing a continuous stream of abilities that forced the general to react.
Whether by dodging, deflecting, or montarily slowing down, which was the only reason Leon was still able to maintain so distance between them.
However, even that advantage didn’t last long, because as he landed on another rooftop, his path forward was suddenly blocked by a group of [Forsaken Knights] who had already taken position ahead of him.
Their weapons were raised and their stance prepared as more of them climbed up from the sides, effectively cutting off his escape route.
At the sa ti, similar scenes unfolded around him, with knights appearing on every nearby rooftop.
They ford a complete encirclent that left no obvious path forward.
And so without slowing down, he chose the only option available to him: which was to break through.
Leon rushed straight toward the group in front of him, his speed increasing as he closed the distance in a fraction of a second.
His sword moved as he struck the nearest knight with all the force he could muster.
The blade sliced cleanly through its armor and body, splitting it in half before it could even react.
The ease of that kill surprised him slightly, but he didn’t dwell on it.
What mattered wasn’t the individual strength of the knights, but their numbers.
And then, at that exact mont, sothing shifted.
Celestial’s Might!
A familiar pressure surged outward from Leon, spreading across the battlefield in an instant as his passive activated once again.
It engulfed every [Forsaken Knight] within range and forced them to react under its influence.
The effect was imdiate and widespread, as the knights trembled under the sudden pressure.
Their movents faltered.
So dropped to their knees and others struggled to maintain their footing.
Several of them losing balance entirely and falling from the rooftops as they failed to withstand the force pressing down on them.
And in that mont, despite being surrounded by hundreds of enemies with a boss chasing him from behind.
Leon only thought about one thing: "It worked!"
