Chapter 1189: Chapter 683: Let the Bullets Fly

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, a true Thousand-Man Slayer, indeed. Young lady, you are truly ruthless. Even those battle maniacs in the Ard Society can’t cut so cleanly and decisively as you do, and this isn’t even against an Exotic, but against your fellow witches. Is this the determination of a Judge?”

Beside her, Wenwen was directing her floating caras to capture the aftermath of corpses and rivers of blood. She herself was looking at the swordsman standing amidst the pool of blood, seemingly untouched by a speck of dust.

The swordsman was still in red clothes and red hair, only now the redness of their robes and hair seed more vivid, as if dyed with fresh blood.

As a reporter, Wenwen had seen her fair share of big scenes, and such slaughter might unsettle others, but she was used to it. After all, a war correspondent is still a reporter. When she was young, she followed her mother to shoot real battlefield footage. Compared to the bloody at grinder of the front line, this minor scene was trivial.

But really, was it so simple?

The Black Wing Witch was indeed used to bloodshed, but previously, it was mostly the blood of Exotics. Now, these were the bodies of witches.

Humans instinctively fear and repel the corpses of their kind, and witches, evolved from humans, are no different.

Moreover, this was no war scene. It was a slaughterhouse created by one person and one sword in a single night. Witnessing the entire killing process firsthand had an impact that was on a completely different scale than filming after the battle.

Wenwen was actually a bit nervous. She feared the young lady might get addicted to killing and, in a blood frenzy, casually chop her too.

This is the reason the Judgnt Court has always had a fierce reputation, not well-liked by the general public. Nobody likes a group of butchers specializing in targeting their kin, even if people know well that they’re killing those who deserve it, that they’re actually upholding world order.

Of course, when you do nothing wrong, you don’t fear the knock of the door, but the problem is, witches are a Calamity Race. Where do you find a Calamity Race where everyone obeys the law? If everything were harmonious, it wouldn’t be a calamity.

The Witch World values strength, everyone wields violence, yet the Judgnt Court is violence among violence.

However, as a witch student who has not yet graduated, Wenwen hasn’t had the chance to engage in any truly nefarious activities yet. So she’s just a little purely afraid of a powerful force she cannot resist, nothing she’d call fear.

Though she did develop a whole new understanding of the ruthlessness of the Judgnt Court. She thought it indeed wise to avoid crossing any boundaries in the future. Otherwise, she’s genuinely scared of soday having the young lady’s sword, quicker than slicing lons, fall upon her neck.

Heh, and you call yourself a civil engineering witch who loves peace? What nonsense. What kind of civil engineering witch fights like this? You’re clearly an Ard Witch.

The Black Wing Witch cynically thought to herself.

“Uh, it’s nothing really, just weeding after all. To make the crops in the field grow strong, you have to weed out those stealing nutrients from them. Isn’t that obvious?”

Dorothy had just finished digesting the combat experience she gained from Diligence Makes Up for Lack of Skill. After a night of diligence, witnessing the swordsmanship of a thousand samurais across various schools, she had a vague idea of creating sword techniques suitable for Dragon’s Breath. All she needed was so contemplation at ho to probably co up with a draft.

With spirits brightened by this success, she couldn’t help but show the smile of a farr enjoying a bountiful harvest.

As for Senior Wenwen and her sharp remarks, she didn’t mind much.

After all, she wasn’t doing this to be a hero or anything, not so noble. She was rely fulfilling her own ideals and satisfying herself. Why care about others’ opinions when it cos to self-satisfaction?

My mind and actions are as clear as a bright mirror; all I do is just.

The Black Wing Witch, watching the young lady who was beaming even after the filming ended, beca even more timid.

Gosh, achieving the Thousand-Man Slayer and still being capable of smiling, what a true monster.

More so comparing people to weeds, truly ruthless. Young lady, you are now scarier outside the play than the cold-blooded swordsman within. Do you know that?

Wenwen nodded in agreent, showing a deanor of “boss, whatever you say is right,” while internally feeling increasingly anxious.

It’s no wonder that being under the sa roof with Sophia, that outwardly warm but inwardly cold Student Council President, ans they’re both ruthless people.

“So, what do we shoot next?”

After finishing the footage of this scene, the Black Wing Witch cautiously looked at the young lady and then asked.

Dorothy blinked.

You ask , who should I ask? Now that the script isn’t my responsibility anymore.

The hobody witch thought cynically. She didn’t know what Sophia would arrange for her next.

But it didn’t matter. Take soldiers when soldiers co, cover water when water floods. Any obstacle to her strength was just a paper tiger. Even though Dorothy had sealed her hacks today, she knew she could still be invincible in Japan with just her Red Shadow in hand.

Dorothy smiled confidently, then said to Wenwen,

“Don’t worry, let the bullets fly a while.”

……

anwhile, as the sun rose, the bloodstained darkness hidden by the night was finally revealed.

When villagers from various villages awoke, soone quickly noticed that the ronin warriors who once treated them with contempt had been slaughtered. Imdiately, the villagers were almost singing and dancing in celebration of this great event.

And news quickly spread from the villages to Heian-kyo, reaching the ears of the Chinese Clan patriarchs in the city.

“Intolerable, these foreigners are simply going too far, biting the hand that feeds them!”

In a grand and seemingly elegant yet ultimately extravagant Japanese-style mansion, a noble in resplendent kimono heard the report from a servant and flew into a rage, flipping the tea table in front of her. Her white-powdered face, with blackened teeth, was now ferocious.

“We have already given them enough face to let them carry out the so-called demolition on the surface. Isn’t that enough? Do they want more? Those who are too greedy have no good end.”

This Chinese Clan patriarch roared, then snapped shut her folding fan.

“If they’re so determined to take the hard way, then let’s show these foreigners so serious strength and let them recognize reality, understand that this Japan is not a place for a group of foreign outcasts to boss around.”

She made up her mind with gritted teeth.

However, as she made fierce remarks, the face of this Chinese Clan patriarch didn’t really improve. She recalled the terrifying Great Dragon that had enveloped Heian-kyo a month ago, that dreadful power which had cleaved the Heaven’s Guard Pavilion with a single strike.

The foreigners were barbaric, no doubt, but their current strength had to be reluctantly acknowledged.

Of course, their own Chinese Clan wasn’t weak, but the problem was being strong only when united as a whole. Could they actually unite?

She wasn’t optimistic.

Under the leadership of Lord Fujiwara (Izanagi), they could barely stay united, but now they were leaderless dragons. Whether they could co together again was hard to say. So treacherous souls might have already defected to the foreigners.

As the noble was troubled, another servant rushed in.

“Lord Oyama, there’s news from the Kujo Family and the Konoe Family. They invite you to the Mirage Tower to attend a Chinese Clan gathering, to collectively discuss how to deal with those foreigners.”

The servant relayed the ssage in her ear.

The noble’s eyes lit up, imdiately delighted.

“Prepare the car, I must go to the banquet quickly.”

……

anwhile, in the Yoshiwara Flower District, at the Mirage Tower.

Audrey, with tearful eyes, looked at the Pure White Witch before her.

“Chairman, do I really have to go? Can I switch roles? I really can’t act this one.”

….. Little Fox in Entreaty …
