Capítulo 1878: Chapter 964: Overspending and Business (Part 2)
Damn, she’s unlocked late-ga graduation tech right from the start, we can’t afford this, and there’s no resources to use either.
“Senior, um, our budget?”
She didn’t even dare to look at Senior Mia and could only stamr and ask.
“Here’s the ledger.”
The Golden Princess handed over the ledger helplessly.
As Dorothy glanced at it, cold sweat imdiately started to pour from her forehead, and the towel hanging around her neck finally ca in handy.
Whoa, we’ve directly overspent tenfold, can you believe that?
It might even be more than tenfold, considering the design fees and the wages for construction workers are not even accounted for yet; the listed items are just the material costs.
But the problem is that even with this kind of overspending, she’s only just completed the construction of the workshop building, and none of the facilities for subsequent production have been built yet.
For example, the construction bay for warship production, the alchemical furnaces for various warship components, and the simulated spirit world for warship flight tests…
Geez, there’s not enough money, really not enough!
But that’s the reality. Witch battleships were ant to be the ultimate mystical technique of the Alchemy School, usually an endga skill point to unlock, and once you get it, the ga is supposed to end. So trying to create one is bound to be costly.
Initially, everyone wasn’t planning on producing a true witch battleship in one go; they were actually going to take a civilian route, making sothing like a bare-bones version of a White Dragon Warship to break into the market first.
Yeah, that thing can’t really be considered a warship; it’s more like a civilian vehicle, with a position similar to a luxury car factory.
But now…..
It’s awkward; she actually built a high-spec military warship production facility instead.
Do we really need to go back and build “cars”? Feels like a waste of talent.
“Tsk, Senior, don’t worry just yet. Hold on, I’m going to get so money right now.”
Dorothy thought it over—since she’d already made the mistake, she might as well go all in.
Actually, she could go to Mother Dragon for help; Mother Dragon had previously offered her money, but Dorothy had refused. She wanted to rely on herself for this contest with the Golden Country. Mother Dragon had already provided the venue, which was enough. As for money, she had her own ways.
Right now, she pulled out her spellbook and sent a ssage to her junior apprentice sister.
anwhile, Senior Mia comforted her.
“Little Fairy, I’m not really in a hurry, and I’m not blaming you. Honestly, I kind of expected you to end up like this. I only bla myself for not having enough financial power to let you display your talents without worries.”
She said, sowhat dejected.
Yeah, she’d never been this worried about money before, not even when she left ho with nothing a month ago.
She even started to doubt herself, wondering if she really wasn’t that exceptional. Her previous confidence actually stemd from the Golden Country, and now, without its support, she couldn’t even support her beloved—let alone pass the Golden Trial and have Mother Superior step down early.
However, before Mia could finish her emotional spiral, Audrey ca bouncing over happily.
The lovely-haired Miss Nine-Tailed Fox didn’t quite fit in with the dusty construction site, but the Little Fox didn’t mind. Her nine fluffy tails spun like fans, scattering the dust around her.
“Senior Sister, I brought the information you wanted.”
Audrey approached her senior sister, opened her spellbook, and said excitedly, but in a very small voice.
This barely louder-than-a-mosquito volu was already the Little Fox’s limit.
“Mm, thank you.”
Dorothy took off her brick-laying gloves and used a cleaning curse to wash her hands. She then ruffled her junior sister’s head and thanked her earnestly.
“Isn’t this the battle group list of the Dragon Kingdom? Little Fairy, what do you need this for right now?”
Because Audrey had set her spellbook to sharing mode, Mia also glanced at the shared information and found it puzzling.
They did need this information since they planned to enter the arms business in the future, and these battle groups were potential clients.
But the alchemy workshop wasn’t finished yet, let alone warship production—so why contact these groups now? They couldn’t possibly sell them a mirage or make promises they couldn’t keep.
“Of course, to do business.”
Dorothy responded nonchalantly.
Mia: “…”
Oh dear, Little Fairy, are you really planning to bluff?
The Golden Princess also felt a bit overwheld, wanting to remind her beloved that those battle groups weren’t easily fooled; they’d need to see a rabbit before they released the hawk.
However, before she could speak, the Hobody Witch smiled and said,
“Don’t worry, Senior. I don’t plan to deceive anyone. This is legitimate military business, and it’s truly a lucrative deal, even more so than shipbuilding. I wasn’t planning to move so quickly, but now I can’t help but take a bit of a risk.”
“Uh?”
Mia remained a bit puzzled.
Arms business?
She wasn’t exactly unfamiliar with the arms business.
The main business of the Golden Country may be banking, but by now, it extended far beyond that, covering almost every profitable industry.
This naturally included the arms business.
Yeah, the Golden Princess rembered that her Silver Sister was the Arms Queen of the Dragon Kingdom.
Though she always felt that title was sowhat hollow since the Golden Country’s arms industry wasn’t comprehensive.
In the usual sense, the scope of arms for witches is quite broad; almost any resource usable in war can be considered arms.
But if broken down, it probably falls into three major categories.
Equipnt, Magic Potions, and Knowledge.
Equipnt is easy to understand, ranging from magic wands and battle robes to fortresses and warships.
Magic Potions are also easy to understand—classic red and blue potions, various enhancent potions, and even lethal poisons.
The last, Knowledge, is a bit more miscellaneous, encompassing strategic books, military maps, world information, but generally, knowledge-based arms refer to spells.
Well, because for witches, spells are central in combat and are vital in importance. Even with full divine gear, without spells, there’s not much impact.
The Golden Country covers all three categories, but none exceptionally well.
For equipnt arms, lacking the capability to build ships, they miss out on the crucial witch warship.
The Magic Potion category is better, but compared to top Magic Potion Families, they don’t possess unique secret potions, primarily focusing on affordability and volu.
As for Knowledge, doing relatively well, as the Golden Country brings in several spell masters, supporting their developnt.
In all areas, they are involved, but none to an elite level.
From Mia’s perspective, her Silver Sister achieved the Arms Queen status mostly due to the vast resources of the Golden Country; she might lack core technology, but she can integrate resources.
By investing in qualified shipbuilding workshops, collaborating with Magic Potion Families, recruiting spell masters, and a range of thods, the Golden Country’s comrce can provide a one-stop service, fulfilling all custor demands.
This is the hallmark of the rchant profession.
“So, Little Fairy, which business are you planning to venture into?”
Mia watched her beloved, about to head out empty-handed, and asked further.
“Spells, big military spell business.”
Lady Witch of the Forest answered.
…. Witch on the move…
