"Ptooey, ptooey, ptooey, what am I thinking about? That's not a good on. Even if it ans sacrificing Life Force, who says it has to be my own? Sacrificing an enemy's would do just fine. I'll just modify it into the 'Star Absorption Technique'."
The Hobody Witch stood up and glanced at the bunch of fresh flowers in front of the church's statue. She walked over, stretched out a finger, and gently touched the still-fresh flowers. In the next mont, the entire bunch visibly withered away at a rapid pace and finally turned into a pile of mush.
"Hmm, not bad, the effect's pretty decent. From now on, I'll drain life with my left hand and slap faces with a fireball in my right. It's kind of a self-defense capability, I suppose."
Dorothy nodded in satisfaction.
After that, she didn't continue browsing through other Magic Tos. Instead, she turned her gaze back to Miss Denisha across from her, still frowning and struggling with her studies.
Indeed, the future God King was still a mortal at the present, and it was her first encounter with witchcraft magic. Leaving a layperson to self-study magic was truly asking too much. Were magic that easy to learn, everyone would be a Mage, and mages would beco worthless.
"How is it going, can you understand it? If there's anything you don't get, you can ask ," Dorothy said, trying hard to keep a straight face and feigning seriousness.
No helping it, she could barely keep a straight face, seeing what she was up to right then. She was actually trying to teach magic to the God King Himself, the very embodint of the All-Spells Assembly.
This was no longer bringing coal to Newcastle, it was like showing off one's literacy in front of Cang Jie himself.
After all, the very first eight branches of witchcraft were invented by the God King Himself. Attempting to teach the forefather of magic surely placed quite the pressure on her.
But she had no choice. To quickly help this yet-to-awaken forefather of magic gain combat power, she had to muster up the courage to force the issue.
Just then...
"Most of it is pretty simple. It's just that there are so parts that seem overly complex and cumberso. They could definitely be simplified. And so parts, I think, could be modified like this," said Miss Denisha from across the way. She lifted her head, a bit embarrassed as she extended her hand, and a sphere of light rose from her palm.
This was a Basic Level Lighting Spell, which serves as nothing more than a source of light without any offensive abilities.
Dorothy had given her the spellbook because Miss Denisha was still a magic novice. It was the most novice-friendly magic there was...
But now, even such a simple Lighting Spell began to Transmigrate in the hands of Miss Shepherdess into sothing extraordinary, transforming the spell that rely shone like a star into an impressive cross-shaped Lightsaber.
"Dorothy, I just tried sothing out. Do you think it's okay?"
Denisha casually waved her Lightsaber a few tis before speaking sowhat shyly to Dorothy.
Hobody Witch: "???"
Well done, she just upgraded a Basic Level Light Trick into a One-Ring Swift Lightsaber. Although it still looked a bit rough, the basic frawork was indeed there.
Man, is this the kind of Talent the Witch King has? Truly terrifying to behold. Compared to her, I...
Oh, seems I'm still the more impressive one. Nevermind then.
"Well done, Denisha, you definitely have Talent for a Mage, just a bit less than mine. Keep it up, keep working hard, I'm rooting for you," Dorothy said with a forced sense of pride, holding tears back as she expended so of the little Magic Power she had left to modify her average Fireball Technique into a Fla Greatsword. After performing a few graceful sword maneuvers, she then made her assessnt.
Upon seeing it, Denisha, who was actually feeling a bit proud of herself originally, couldn't help but compare her sowhat dull Starlight One-Handed Sword to the glorious Fla Greatsword in her sister's hands. She quickly dissipated her sword in embarrassnt and got back to reading.
Miss Shepherdess's cheeks flushed with sha. She had thought she might have so Talent for magic, but now she realized she was far from competent. It was quite embarrassing.
Yet Denisha wasn't too disheartened. She was filled with motivation because Dorothy had said her Talent wasn't poor.
Yeah, she'd keep at it, work hard to beco stronger so that soday she could at least be of help to Dorothy. If Talent alone wasn't enough, then she'd make up for it with double the effort and catch up to Dorothy eventually.
After all, she was the elder sister, albeit only by a few months. How could she always rely on her younger sister to protect her?
These were Miss Denisha's thoughts as soone who had grown up with her sister from a young age.
anwhile, Dorothy, who had relaxed slightly upon finding a self-defense capacity, dipped her head and picked up a new Magic To to read.
Man, no ti to slack off anymore. Otherwise, Denisha might catch up to her soon.
Competing with the future God King was, in reality, unnecessary. If it were any other witch here, she'd surely not bother trying to contest Talent with the Witch King. But Dorothy just didn't want to lose. She couldn't explain why, but an inexplicable competitive spirit had arisen within her.
So she plunged back into her books.
And as the two sisters began their silent rivalry, Adam, lying on the bed nearby, twitched his fingers slightly. Shortly thereafter, the Great Dragon that had been flying all this ti seed to have reached its destination and began its descent.
...The Great Dragon is landing...
