Looking at the expectant gaze of the black sheep girl before her, Dorothy suddenly felt a twinge of guilt.
After all, in so sense, the words of the dark goat were not wrong; she was indeed using this young girl who harbored affection for her.
Even though her manipulation technically amounted to indirectly rescuing the girl, it still didn't mask the fact that she had ulterior motives.
Fortunately, the hobody witch was fairly thick-skinned, devoid of any moral fussiness, and not prone to feeling uneasy over such trifles.
She was not one of those saviors who took it upon themselves to save the world, without selfless grand moralities. Pies didn't just fall from the sky. To gain sothing, there must be a corresponding effort—this concept of equivalent exchange was the normal worldview for a witch.
Bestowing favors without expecting returns wasn't sothing she aspired to, nor was she so empty as to seek spiritual fulfillnt through such ans.
So.....
"Then I won't beat around the bush any longer, Koreya, I am indeed using you, to achieve a grand goal, I need so assistance, and both your character and abilities are comndable, so I want to absorb you into our organization."
White Dove laid out her cards openly, and then, to increase her persuasiveness, she continued.
"It so happens that your enemy is also an obstacle to our organization's grand objective. You need strength, and we need manpower; both parties can benefit and complent each other...."
"Okay, I'll join."
Before White Dove could finish speaking, Koreya had already nodded and agreed directly.
"Um...."
The black sheep girl's swift and decisive response sowhat baffled Dorothy.
"Oh, you really don't want to consider it a bit more?"
She swallowed the many manipulative phrases she had ready to utter, then tilted her head, attempting to persuade her further.
"Sister Nun, I didn't really understand what you said, but I did understand that you need my help, so I will try my best."
Koreya scratched her head a bit sheepishly, feeling sowhat embarrassed.
Though her body had grown under the effect of magic, she was still fundantally a ten-year-old girl, and there were limits to how precocious she could be, let alone understand highfalutin terms like mutual benefits, complenting each other, or grand objectives.
As a poor girl who had never attended school, Koreya's education was limited to recognizing her own na, which her father had taught her in his spare ti. Unfortunately, her father was too busy with work to teach her more.
But aside from not understanding the rest, Sister Nun needed her help right now, and she was happy to help, especially to fight those bad people targeting her.
After all, it was Miss Nun herself who had given her strength to cure her father. Having accepted Miss Nun's help, when Miss Nun was in trouble and needed her assistance, it was only right for her to do her best. Wasn't that just the way things should be?
Not to ntion helping to combat those who sought to harm her.
Such moral principles were beyond her grasp; the young girl only knew the simple truths of repaying kindness as well as vengeance.
"You fool, how did such a wise life bear such a foolish daughter? You believe anything people tell you, and you don't even know what this organization is about, yet you dare to join. Aren't you afraid that the person on the other side might trick and sell you?"
Initially self-conscious because his daughter had criticized him for being ugly, Baphot also couldn't hold back now—the demon god as a father couldn't just stand by and watch his daughter be swayed by others. If that beca known in the Abyss, other demon gods would mock him for letting his daughter be coaxed under his nose. Where would he place his honor as a grand demon god?
At that mont, the dark little goat began frantically stomping his feet, angrily scolding his seemingly brainless foster daughter.
"Oh, indeed. Then, Sister Nun, what is the grand goal of our organization?"
Listening to this being who claid to be her father, Koreya nodded, realizing she had indeed forgotten to ask about that.
Baphot: "....."
Hearing his foolish daughter already considering herself part of their organization, even a martial-fighting demon god felt weary for the first ti. Despite being a fighter, how was he blessed with such a clever daughter?
While the demon god sighed on one end, White Dove barely suppressed her laughter on the other.
Dorothy truly hadn't expected that the future sage known for her wisdom, scholarly prowess, and near omniscience, would be such a naïve child in her youth.
With this child, she could literally lure her ho with a lollipop to watch goldfish.
However, she rather liked such naïve and adorable foolishness. After all, it was better to be a bit foolish as overly clever people often overthought things, and their resolve wasn't as steadfast. And the tasks they were to undertake required unwavering willpower to see them through to the end.
"The grand goal, of course, is to save the world. We aim to create a world where everyone can have enough to eat and wear warmly, where all people are treated equally without oppression, and where everyone can live happily every day."
Perhaps because the black sheep girl was so genuinely adorable, Dorothy's voice softened unintentionally as White Dove answered in a tone like one used to soothe a child.
