Now reading: Chapter 201: Crisis from Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights, a Fantasy novel by DDTheDreamer.

In Athens, one of the few cities that still retained their archaeological beauty and had minimum destruction throughout the past century due to the little number of dungeons that opened up in this city, people went about their lives with smiles on their faces.

This was country of Greece, known for having the smallest number of dungeon outbreaks, and it was even more obvious in their capital, Athens.

Andreas, a blonde-haired man in his early forties, with his wife, Zoe, ca out of their ho with their kids. A boy and a girl, with the boy, George, being the older and the girl, Sofia, the last child.

She was eight while George was eleven.

"Who’s excited for today?" Andreas bead.

"Beach day!" Sofia stretched her tiny hands into the air, her cheeks puffing up as she smiled widely, exposing her small teeth.

Andreas, her father, turned to his wife. "Didn’t you tell them?"

"I did." Zoe chuckled.

"We’re not going to the beach, Sofia." George retorted with a low click of his tongue before turning his head away from his sister, whom he considered dumb.

Andreas saw a taxi slow down and he clapped softly toward the family. "Our ride is here. Rember, when we’re there, don’t go exploring on your own. Always stay close to or your mother."

Everyone nodded.

Andreas smiled. "Alright." He opened the door and his wife entered with the kids, but as he was about to sit, his eyes narrowed at the sight of people running from the left toward the right.

He thought it was a few, but it wasn’t in the slightest. Funny enough, because of the low number of dungeons, Greece had over fifty percent of normal humans, recording the highest worldwide!

Only a few were able to use their summons to gain the advantage, and so already ran past the taxi.

Andreas ca out; the driver did the sa thing. Their eyes trembled when they saw a massive red gate far away, behind several buildings. These people running must have seen it when it began to appear.

Now... it was already fully open.

Andreas’ heart pounded, his eyes shrinking with great fear. He swiftly turned toward the taxi driver.

"Get in, we need to move!"

If that enormous crowd got to them, there would be no way to move. But just as they were about to enter the taxi, they saw another red gate a few hundred feet away, also behind a good number of buildings.

It wasn’t really close, but it lood like the gate of death. The gate was as tall as a three-story building and much larger, the sa for the other behind him!

Andreas, the driver, his wife, and his children were horrified. This was death. Athens had only registered three dungeon breaks for the past century; in fact, while the entire world went through an apocalypse, they were largely unscathed.

This was the first ti they’ve seen the infamous red gate they’ve always heard of, and this ti, not just one appeared but two, and in close proximity. There wasn’t more than a thousand feet gap between both gates.

There was chaos. Fear had settled in.

Andreas picked up his daughter and his son with remarkable strength and dashed for his house while his wife and the driver went after him.

The mont they went in, they slamd the door and locked it. Andreas dashed in and ca out with a pack of nails and a hamr. Good thing he was a carpenter.

He broke down his table and began to nail the wood to the window while sweating profusely, not just out of stress but fear.

The driver went to help him while Zoe took her children to the room. George and Sofia kept looking out as lots of sound rang from the hundreds of people in the street.

The monsters weren’t out; once they were, there would be a slaughter. She had read docuntaries of what happened in many red gate outbreaks.

Athens was dood. Zoe wanted to cry, but she held it in; she couldn’t cry before her children.

"Stay here and try to be quiet, okay." She said with a smile, though it didn’t reach her eyes.

"George. You protect your sister no matter what." Zoe caressed her son’s face as he nodded heavily, grabbing his sister’s palm.

When the n ca to seal the windows in the room, Zoe went to the attic and began to rearrange the things there. This was where she planned to hide her children if the situation beca dire.

***

"We’ve received unfortunate news. Two red gates with sizes matching the second largest red gates to ever be seen have appeared in Athens. As you can see, the..." The news anchor kept talking, but people in different parts of the world were already cold with fear at the sight of the two red gates.

It was already evening, seven hours since the red gates appeared, and both had not turned black. These were two abnormal occurrences in the sa place.

First, never had two red gates appeared so close to each other; it was like two different dungeon creatures wanted to fight and Athens was their battlefield.

The fact that the gates were still red ant summoners could go in and shut them down before they turned black, but the anchor’s next words made people shudder.

"We just received news after hours of probing. Both dungeons are Divine Tier dungeons. Athens special summoner team A and B had gone in, but we’re sad to inform you that team B has been wiped out."

The news anchor’s statent made people terrified.

"Just why are they telling us all this? I feel like they want us to feel fear on purpose. Is there so kind of doomsday coming to the entire world, or is this even the truth?" An old man sitting in a café shop retorted fiercely.

"I feel it’s better. We need to know the truth, rather than live in comfort built by lies." A younger man responded.

The old man turned to him. "This truth will make society unstable."

"This truth will make brave n aware of Athens’ problem, and they’ll go help. There’s no use hiding the truth; not everyone that is strong is part of a guild or the authorities." The young man replied.
