Autumn Linton was in a panic. She called Charles Reed and told him the plan had failed.

"Charles, what am I supposed to do now? That damn girl, Chloe Reed, is definitely going to get her revenge on ."

There was a long silence on the other end of the line.

"Charles? Are you listening to ?" Autumn Linton’s voice grew more frantic when he didn’t respond.

After a long mont, Charles Reed’s detached voice ca through. "You must be insane. Why else would you do sothing like this?"

Hearing this, Autumn Linton was completely stunned. "What are you talking about? You think I’m insane? But you agreed to it when I proposed the plan!"

But Charles Reed said, "I only said I’d think about it. I never said I agreed."

Autumn Linton was completely dumbfounded, unable to believe her ears. "What are you trying to say?"

When they reached the outskirts of the city, they could see a row of connected buildings in the distance. Several people were standing at the main entrance, two of whom were Daniel Hayes and Dylan Finch.

Dylan Finch beat him to it, saying, "Ma’am, your grandmother is inside. I’ve already arranged for n to protect her. She’s unhard, so you can rest assured."

Daniel Hayes frowned at him.

Walker Grant acknowledged, then followed after Chloe Reed.

But just then, Daniel Hayes, who was in the lead, suddenly let out a low yell and spun around, lunging toward Chloe Reed.

Walker Grant was closest to her. He reached out, yanked her into his arms, and held her tight.

Sothing hit the ground with a muffled thud, and a small crater imdiately appeared in that spot.

"A silenced gun!"

Daniel Hayes’s expression grew even more grave.

"Protect Miss Reed!"

The shouts rang out simultaneously as bodyguards scattered, searching for the shooter.

Chloe Reed was held tightly in Walker Grant’s arms as he retreated toward the car.

Chloe Reed’s ears were ringing, her face a mask of disbelief. "What’s going on? Why are there guns?"

Just as they were about to reach the car, Walker Grant suddenly pulled her again and spun them around.

A bullet grazed Walker Grant’s arm as it flew past!
