"Hello?"

Chloe Reed answered the call, her tone not as cold as it had been before.

"Chloe."

The man’s voice was a little hoarse. "Where are you?"

Chloe Reed said, "I’m on the road. What’s up?"

Walker Grant fell silent for a mont before speaking, his tone tinged with a hint of grievance. "You’re not coming to see ?"

Chloe Reed: "..."

She gripped the steering wheel, staring ahead. After two seconds of silence, she said, "I’m on my way now."

The man’s voice sounded distinctly more cheerful. "Okay, I’ll be waiting for you."

The call ended, and Chloe Reed let out a soft sigh.

She made a U-turn and drove toward the hospital where Walker Grant was staying.

The premium VIP room had a pleasant atmosphere. The bed was large, and there was also a sofa. A bouquet of flowers in a vase gave off a faint, sweet scent, masking the usually strong sll of disinfectant.

When she entered, she saw the man leaning against the headboard, a small table in front of him with a laptop on it. He was busy working.

Dylan Finch stood to the side, looking as if he was waiting for instructions.

"KNOCK KNOCK."

Chloe Reed stood at the door to the room and knocked with her knuckles.

"You’re injured. Shouldn’t you be resting properly?"

Walker Grant looked up at her, a glint in his dark, phoenix-like eyes, and a faint smile touched his thin lips.

"Chloe, are you worried about ?"

Chloe Reed walked in, pulled a chair over to sit beside him, and said, "You saved my life, after all. I should be concerned about you and thank you."

The curve of Walker Grant’s lips deepened. "Chloe, we’re husband and wife. You don’t have to be so formal with . I’d do anything for you, willingly."

"Oh, is that so?"

Chloe Reed’s tone took on a nonchalant air. "Then what if I asked you to kick Sunny Reed out of the Grant family ho?"

Hearing this, Walker Grant’s expression faltered. "Why would you want to do that? She’s Noah’s mother. I have no reason to kick her out."

Chloe Reed imdiately let out a sneer. "Since there are things you can’t do, you shouldn’t make such absolute promises."

Walker Grant gazed at her intently. "Chloe, were you hurt?"

"I’m fine." Chloe Reed’s tone was very flat, but her limpid eyes held a complex emotion as she looked at him. "Walker Grant, doing this... it doesn’t move ."

Walker Grant’s expression stiffened.

Chloe Reed took a deep breath and continued, "I don’t want to drag anyone into my problems. What you should be doing right now is divorcing . You need to consider your position. You’re the sole pillar of the Grant family. If sothing happened to you, what would your mother do? Who would protect Noah?"

She spoke earnestly, from the very bottom of her heart.

But there was only one underlying ssage.

Divorce her.

What Judith Pierce had said also made her realize that their marriage truly couldn’t continue.

’I don’t know who’s watching from the shadows, but if he stays tangled up with , he could really die.’

’All I want is a divorce, to separate from him. I don’t want him to die.’

"You ungrateful little thing."

The pleasant look on Walker Grant’s face vanished bit by bit, and he finally said in a low voice.

Chloe Reed: "..."

Her brow furrowed. "I’m saying this for your own good!"

But Walker Grant said coolly, "It’s only for my good if *I* think it’s good."

’Those words sound so familiar. Have I said that before?’

Chloe Reed looked at him, speechless. "Walker Grant, are you really not afraid of dying?"

"As long as I’m still your husband when I die, we’re one and the sa. In that case, I have nothing to be afraid of," he said.
