Seeing this, Dylan Finch slightly raised his eyebrows but didn’t say much.
Grant Group.
Chloe Reed hadn’t been here in a long ti, but the people here still recognized her. Although they had heard she and Walker Grant were going through a divorce, they weren’t officially divorced yet, so everyone still respectfully addressed her as Mrs. Grant.
Chloe Reed’s expression was impassive.
She had originally planned to go back and get so work done after finalizing the divorce, but it seed that wouldn’t be happening today.
So, she decided to find Kyle Coleman first, telling him she wouldn’t have ti today and that they could continue the work tomorrow.
Kyle Coleman frowned at her for a mont before sighing and nodding. "Alright. We’re already wrapping up, and all that’s left is the review. You go handle your business."
"Okay, thank you, Mr. Coleman."
Chloe Reed turned and went straight upstairs.
When she pushed open the door to the CEO’s office, she found it completely empty. Walker Grant wasn’t there.
She sat right down on the sofa and started playing on her phone.
When noon ca, Dylan Finch ordered lunch for her, but Walker Grant still hadn’t returned.
After she finished her lunch, she went out and asked, "When will his eting be over?"
Dylan Finch shook his head. "I’m not sure about that. This eting involves both dostic and international parties, so it might take a very long ti."
Chloe Reed’s brow furrowed. "Can it be over before three in the afternoon?"
Dylan Finch replied helplessly, "Mrs. Grant, I can’t give you any guarantees about that."
Chloe Reed closed the door and went back inside to continue waiting.
While she waited, Daniel Hayes called her to say that the girl had woken up and was crying, wanting to leave. Chloe Reed told him to put the girl on the phone.
Listening to the girl’s sobs over the phone, Chloe Reed asked, "You’re seriously injured. At the end of the day, I’m the one who hit you, and I will take responsibility until you’ve recovered. Why are you in such a hurry to leave?"
The girl just cried without saying a word.
Chloe Reed didn’t press her, simply stating, "I don’t want to deal with any lingering trouble later on, so you can’t leave right now."
The girl choked back sobs and said, "My mother is still in the hospital. She’s paralyzed, and I need to take care of her."
Chloe Reed was slightly moved, then asked, "Which hospital?"
The girl was taken aback. "You... you’re going to help ?"
Chloe Reed said, "Let’s keep things separate. I hit you, so I’m only responsible for your health. I will hire a caregiver to look after your mother, but you’ll have to pay back for that."
The girl was silent for two seconds, then said, "Thank you! I’ll definitely work hard to pay you back!"
Chloe Reed acknowledged her. "Mm. What’s your na?"
"Annie York," the girl said timidly.
"Alright, I’ve got it. Just focus on recovering at the hospital for now. I’ll co by to see you later." After settling the matter, Chloe Reed glanced at the ti. It was already two in the afternoon.
Walker Grant’s eting still wasn’t over.
She frowned slightly, unable to stop herself from wondering, ’Is he really in a eting, or is this just an excuse to blow off?’
Frustrated and annoyed, Chloe Reed stood up and walked out of the office. As luck would have it, she saw Walker Grant erging from behind a door, followed by a large group of people.
She crossed her arms, her tone cold as she said, "There’s still ti. Co with to the Civil Affairs Bureau."
Walker Grant was in the middle of saying sothing to the person next to him. Hearing her voice, he looked over.
The others all softened their footsteps, their ears perked to catch the gossip.
Walker Grant’s handso face was cold and distant. He asked faintly, "When did you get here?"
What?!
’He didn’t even know I was here?’
She subconsciously looked toward Dylan Finch, but he averted his gaze, too guilty to et her eyes.
