’Did I hear him right?’
The leader of the world’s second-largest rcenary organization, a man who’s committed every evil imaginable, a terrorist mastermind with a danger rating of ten stars, was actually calling *her* immoral?
’He has *so* principles, just not many, huh?’
Chloe Reed actually laughed out loud.
William Quinn’s eyes widened slightly. "What are you laughing at? Is what I said funny? You’re so rude!"
Chloe Reed quickly waved her hands. "No, I think you’re absolutely right. I’ll keep my distance from him."
But the mont the words left her mouth, an arm wrapped around her shoulders. The next second, Walker Grant planted a kiss right on her cheek.
Walker Grant’s phoenix eyes glanced coolly at William Quinn. "This is the date I brought with . Isn’t it a bit out of line for you to be disciplining her?"
"You...!"
Seeing his action, William Quinn pointed at him and imdiately declared, "You really are an unreliable man! I’m going to tell your wife you betrayed her! You’re cheating!"
A faint smile played on Walker Grant’s lips. "Go ahead."
Then, his gaze fell on Chloe Reed’s face. "Are you scared? My wife is about to find out about you."
Chloe Reed: "..."
’Who wants to play this stupid ga with him!’
’Still, watching William Quinn get all worked up is pretty amusing.’
William Quinn’s defenses were shattered. Before, Walker Grant had been willing to make a deal with him for his wife’s sake.
But now, he was cheating on her without a shred of remorse.
William Quinn went straight to the side to keep drinking, deciding he would have less to do with this heartless scoundrel from now on.
As for finding the Nyx girl, he’d have to rely on himself.
"..."
The atmosphere in the private room grew more lively, but Chloe Reed’s gaze kept drifting to the door.
About an hour later, the door to the room opened again, and a very ordinary-looking man walked in.
The man wore black-rimd glasses. He scanned his surroundings as soon as he entered, and after confirming that the person he was looking for wasn’t there, he turned to leave.
But unexpectedly, two bodyguards had appeared behind him at so point.
The man imdiately spun back around and saw the young masters and ladies all getting up and leaving the private room.
Only a few people on the sofa remained.
"Manager Miller, you ca all the way to Breyburn. Why didn’t you let know? I would have loved to welco you properly," Walker Grant said coolly, his phoenix eyes watching the man at the door with amusent.
Sean Miller’s gaze was wary. "The person who contacted was Miles Hawthorne. Why is it you?"
"I sent Miles Hawthorne to another country to handle so business, so I ca instead." Walker Grant asked, "You don’t seem very happy to see , do you?"
Sean Miller pushed up his glasses. "Our company has no partnership with Grant Corporation. I’m not sure what business Mr. Grant could have with ."
"Partnerships can always be discussed." Walker Grant gestured to the sofa. "Manager Miller, have a seat. We can talk things over slowly."
Just then, William Quinn let out a sneer. "I rember you. You’re a very bad man."
Sean Miller looked at him and asked in confusion, "And you are?"
William Quinn propped his feet up on the coffee table. "You’re not worthy of knowing who I am."
Sean Miller sensed the man’s powerful and domineering aura and began to panic inwardly.
’If I’m not mistaken, sothing has already happened to Miles Hawthorne.’
He had been fine before, but he’d suddenly lost contact recently. When he was finally reached again, sothing felt off.
However, his superiors had ordered him to et with Miles Hawthorne—preferably alone, to make it easier to "take care of" him.
That was why he had taken the risk and co to Breyburn.
But now, how was he going to see Miles Hawthorne?
