The next day, when Chloe Reed ca downstairs, she saw Iris Yates was already up, staring at her with a resentful look.
"Ahem."
Chloe Reed cleared her throat, walked over, and asked, "What do you want for breakfast?"
Iris Yates’s lips ford a pout so deep you could practically hang sothing from them. She said gloomily, "I waited for you all last night."
Chloe Reed was at a loss for words.
’How am I supposed to explain this?’
’There’s no way to explain it.’
She stood up and headed for the kitchen. "I’ll go see what we have for breakfast."
Iris Yates: "Hmph!"
Just then, Walker Grant also ca down the stairs.
She shot him a look and muttered, "Seducer!"
Hearing this, Walker Grant raised an eyebrow. His expression wasn’t the least bit cold as he said lightly, "Thank you for the complint."
Iris Yates was speechless.
’Like hell I’m complinting you!’
Bodyguards escorted Iris Yates ho. Chloe Reed breathed a sigh of relief when she received a ssage that Iris had arrived safely.
Today, Claire Monroe was going to hypnotize Sean Miller.
Sean Miller was also being held in that villa.
When they arrived, they found Sean Miller locked in a room. He looked haggard and unkempt, with dull, lifeless eyes.
’He had failed his mission and been captured.’
’He was probably going to die here.’
Walker Grant said calmly, "If you tell everything you know right now, I’ll give you a new identity. The old Sean Miller will disappear completely, and no one will ever find you."
Hearing this, a flicker of life returned to Sean Miller’s eyes. He asked in a hoarse voice, "You’d really do that?"
"As long as you tell the truth," Walker Grant replied, his eyes cold as he looked at him.
Sean Miller was torn, struggling with the decision.
But after a long mont, he closed his eyes and said, "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
’So he was going to be stubborn to the end.’
He didn’t believe Walker Grant could protect him.
Walker Grant raised an eyebrow but said nothing, instead turning to look at Claire Monroe.
A smile played on Claire Monroe’s lips. "I just love the stubborn ones."
Sean Miller eyed her with suspicion. "Who are you?"
Claire Monroe walked over and sat down right in front of him. A smile curved her lips. "You’ll find out soon enough."
With a snap of her fingers, an antique pocket watch appeared in her hand, dangling and swinging from side to side.
Sean Miller’s gaze unconsciously followed the swinging watch.
As his eyes began to glaze over, Claire Monroe spoke. "Who is Miss Vera?"
Her first question cut right to the heart of the matter.
Miles Hawthorne hadn’t woken up yet, so they couldn’t get any information from him for the ti being.
For now, Sean Miller was their only lead.
Staring blankly at the watch, Sean Miller replied in a slow, robotic voice, "The eldest young lady of the Holloway Family."
’The Holloway Family?’
Chloe Reed looked at Walker Grant, confusion clouding her eyes.
Walker Grant lowered his gaze slightly, saying nothing.
Claire Monroe raised an eyebrow. She had clearly heard of the Holloway Family, but she’d never known they had a Vera Holloway among them.
She proceeded to ask several more questions about Vera Holloway and the Holloway Family, all of which Sean Miller answered.
This hypnosis session was easier than the one with Miles Hawthorne.
When the hypnosis ended, Sean Miller fell into a deep sleep. He wouldn’t rember a thing about it.
After leaving the room, Claire Monroe popped a piece of gum into her mouth. "So, this business involves the Holloway Family after all."
Chloe Reed asked, "What kind of family are they?"
"They play in both legitimate and criminal circles. A powerful family that operates in the shadows behind other influential figures, but they’ve always kept a low profile. They haven’t made any big moves in years. I’ve had dealings with them twice," Claire Monroe explained, sharing what she knew.
