"Well, that’s settled then." Sienna Thornton didn’t continue the topic, picking up the nu to order.
After the al, the intricate ceramic plates were cleared away, and the waiter brought in tea and dessert.
Sienna Thornton took a bank card out of her bag and pushed it towards Simon Forrester with both hands, her smile sincere. "I’ve never used this card, and the thirty thousand yuan has also been transferred to this account. Thank you so much this ti!"
Simon Forrester picked up the card but didn’t put it into his wallet right away; instead, he played with it, as if it still retained the warmth of Sienna Thornton’s touch.
He smiled wryly, "You’re welco. It was just a small favor."
"Oh, I’ve always wanted to ask you," Sienna Thornton said casually, spooning so cherry blossom jelly into her mouth, "how did you find my hotown? I hadn’t even sent Maeve the coordinates, yet you ca."
"I saw it when I helped Auntie King with the prepaid dical expenses."
Only then did Sienna rember that when she asked Simon Forrester to pay at the hospital window, she had indeed given him the dical records with her ho address on them.
She praised him admiringly, "You have a really good mory!"
If it weren’t for Simon Forrester’s good mory, recalling her ho address and the engagent with the village chief’s son she had once ntioned in passing, she might not have been able to escape from the village chief’s house that night.
Thinking about her current leisure and freedom all owed to Simon Forrester, Sienna beca more determined to coexist peacefully with him and stop causing him trouble.
After returning ho, the two went to their respective rooms.
Sienna Thornton grabbed her pajamas and was about to take a shower. She had just set up two stools in the guest bathroom when Simon Forrester ca out of his study, holding a coffee cup, and leaned against the bathroom door, asking, "Need any help?"
Having decided not to trouble him anymore, Sienna quickly declined, "No, no, I can handle it."
"Alright then."
Even so, Simon Forrester stood outside the guest bathroom until Sienna finished her shower before returning to his study.
Sienna was quiet all evening. After her shower, she went to the laundry room, threw her clothes in the washing machine, and then hung them out to dry before returning to her room.
Simon Forrester suddenly found this version of her a bit unfamiliar.
Before going to sleep, he knocked on her door.
"Open the door yourself."
The girl’s clear and sweet voice ca from inside, and Simon Forrester’s heart skipped a beat.
He opened the door but didn’t enter, just stood at the entrance.
Sienna was already lying in bed, with her crutches leaning against the nightstand—no wonder she didn’t want to get up to open the door.
"Is there sothing you need?" Sienna shifted her gaze from her phone screen to Simon Forrester’s face.
"I’m going to work tomorrow. How will you manage your als?"
Sienna thought for a mont, "Eating? That’s simple. Don’t worry about that."
Simon Forrester nodded, about to close the door and leave, when Sienna suddenly called after him, "Did Auntie King say when she’d be back?"
"She ca the day after I returned from Wrayhaven, but I told her you might be staying in your hotown for a while, so I asked her to wait until further notice."
Sienna thought Simon’s handling was appropriate; it wouldn’t be convenient to have a caregiver living there with her away.
"I’ll give her a call and ask her to co over tomorrow."
Simon Forrester said, "Alright," and was about to close the door and leave, but suddenly pointed at the door handle and asked, "Not locking it?"
