"Well, no wonder you’re a forty-seven-year-old man, you’ve truly figured things out."
She blinked and laughed like a girl in her twenties, bright and charming, wrapping her arms around Simon Forrester’s neck and giggling.
Simon Forrester had long been accustod to this authoritative yet gentle deanor of hers.
All these years together, whether she was a down-and-out lawyer after a failed start-up or the current Mayor Thorne, she always remained stern and unyielding on matters concerning won, setting harsh conditions upfront.
Not to ntion Simon Forrester’s deep affection for her, his constant respect, and love for their three children; as a man who cherished his integrity and was indifferent to romantic flings, focusing solely on his career, Simon Forrester wouldn’t engage in such activities even in his free ti.
He used to reassure her by referencing the Forrester n’s history of fidelity, but ever since Zane Forrester’s incident, he could no longer use this fact for her peace of mind.
Nevertheless, he was always transparent on matters concerning won.
He held her, kissed her earlobe, and warmly said, "I understand you’re giving your customary warning, as you should. But let assure you, I won’t do those things, so you can rest easy and not overthink."
She felt satisfied, holding him with a smile for a while, cupping his face, and kissing him.
...
On the day Simon Forrester left, their three children were at school. Sienna Thornton took half a day off to see him off at the airport.
Getting out of the car, they walked into the airport hand in hand.
After getting the boarding pass and checking in the luggage, they held hands again, waiting until the last mont before entering the security check.
Sienna Thornton seed relatively normal while in the car, but now, her expression had changed, with drooping lips, looking like she was about to cry.
Simon Forrester held her, comforting her gently, saying he’d be back soon, maybe in half a month instead of a month.
But regardless of the ti, to Sienna Thornton, it ant separating from her husband.
With red eyes, she hugged Simon Forrester and tearfully said, "We’ve been together for so many years and never been apart for this long."
Simon Forrester sighed, "If you weren’t working, or if you had more flexible hours, I could’ve taken you to the United States with ."
"You’re making want to quit my job!"
Simon Forrester chuckled, "Don’t be impulsive."
They hugged for quite a while until the airport announced the Los Angeles flight would board in fifteen minutes. Sienna Thornton quickly let go of Simon Forrester and urged him through security.
They reluctantly waved goodbye to each other. Sienna Thornton followed him to the security check, crying as she watched Simon Forrester pass through it and enter the departure lounge.
Leaving the airport, despite the clear, sunny autumn day, she felt a cloud of gloom and bitterness inside.
Groggily, she got into the car, drove to work, but felt disoriented.
Her secretary asked if she was feeling unwell, and she instinctively replied, "My husband is on a business trip; I feel uneasy."
The secretary covered her mouth, giggling.

After Simon Forrester left, Sienna Thornton was overwheld, buried in work both day and night. After work, she still had to check the assignnts and sign off for her twins, take the three kids out to exercise, and later bathe them.
Often, she would put the kids to bed, then wash herself, throw her and the kids’ clothes into the laundry. Once everything was washed, dried, folded, and after preparing for bed, it was almost midnight.
With help from Sylvia Langley and a cleaning lady for other chores, Sienna was only responsible for the children’s evening routine, which kept her busy till late, let alone anything else.
She suddenly realized that Simon Forrester had been taking on most of the parenting responsibilities when he was around.
She used to co ho, eat, load the dishwasher, and just bathe herself. Simon Forrester took care of everything regarding the kids, so she didn’t have to worry at all.
But once he left, she clearly felt overwheld, the lack of sleep causing physical discomfort and the busyness adding to her stress.
Every ti she video-called Simon Forrester, she cried, asking when he’d return, saying she could hardly endure anymore. Finally, under her tearful pleas, Simon Forrester returned from the United States after half a month.
Simon Forrester didn’t notify her in advance; he surprised her with his return.
On the day he ca back, it was a weekend. She had spent the whole day with the kids, feeling utterly exhausted, and suddenly saw Simon Forrester at the door with two suitcases. She was so happy she burst into tears, throwing herself into his arms and sobbing uncontrollably in front of the kids.
Simon Forrester held her, kissed away her salty, teary eyes, and softly comforted her.
Sylvia Langley covered her mouth, laughing from the side, saying they were getting clingier with age.
Yvie said from the side, "Dad loves Mom so much; I want to find a dad like him."
Cherie said, "Mom is so childish and loves to cry; I won’t look for soone like her."
Only the mature and sensible Victor understood why Mom cried and why Dad kissed away Mom’s tears, allowing her to cry freely, smudging his black shirt with snot and tears.
On that day, as soon as Simon Forrester got ho, he started helping with the childcare, checking the kids’ howork, taking them out for exercise, and bathing the two sons. Sienna Thornton returned to a life where she only needed to bathe herself, like a well-cared-for wife.
After her bath, she ca out and saw Simon Forrester just finished putting the two sons to bed. Seeing his jet-lagged face, she suddenly felt a pang of heartache, dutifully heading to the bathroom to run him a bath.
In the steamy bathroom, even the air was filled with a romantic lavender scent.
Simon Forrester soaked in the bathtub while Sienna Thornton sat outside it, applying essential oils to her hands, massaging his shoulders and neck, kneading his scalp.
"Will coming back early affect your work?" she asked gently, closing in on his ear while rubbing his shoulders and neck.
He opened his arms, relaxed them on the edge of the bathtub, leaned over to kiss her, gazed deeply into her eyes, and smiled, "No, I’ve arranged everything; I’ll go back in a month."
She breathed a sigh of relief.
The fresh fragrance of essential oils wafted through the air, and the lavender scent made people feel warm and relaxed.
...
As the twins grew, Sienna Thornton gradually adapted to Simon Forrester’s business trips to the United States.
After the twins started elentary school, Sienna would take the three children to do charity work every sumr and winter break.
Initially, they would go to Wrayhaven to donate school buildings and establish an education fund. Later, she focused on children’s severe illness relief, founding a foundation in The Forresters’ na, providing many seriously ill children with proper treatnt and care.
In 2037,
The sa year the ninety-seven-year-old Old Mrs. Thorne passed away, forty-six-year-old Sienna Thornton was appointed governor of the State of H, focusing on the economy.
Julian Shepard hoped she would bring the state’s GDP growth to the national average during her tenure, setting a strong point in her political career, providing an unquestionable foundation for her future advancent.
