Shalltear stiffened for a mont, clearly caught off guard by the sudden hug. But as I held her close, she quickly relaxed into my arms, her confusion lting into a soft smile. "Alex-sama, what brought this on?" she asked, her voice a mix of amusent and curiosity. "Did sothing happen?"
I pulled back slightly, still keeping my hands on her shoulders. "You wouldn't believe the situation I was just in," I replied, shaking my head. "But let's just say you showed up at exactly the right ti."
A knowing smirk played across Shalltear's lips. "Oh? Was soone giving you a hard ti, Alex-sama?" she teased, her eyes darting briefly to Aura and Mare, who were watching us intently.
I chuckled, "They're just curious about sothing," I said, glancing back at Aura and Mare as well. "But it's all good now, thanks to you."
Shalltear satisfied under the praise, clearly pleased with herself. "I'm glad I could help, Alex-sama," she said, her voice practically purring with satisfaction. "I always aim to be of service to you."
Then she threw a smirk at Aura like she did sothing amazing. "Unlike so shorty, over here."
Shalltear shot Aura a smug grin, her confidence practically oozing from every pore. "Oh, did I hit a nerve? Maybe you should try being more useful, shorty."
Aura's eyes narrowed as she crossed her arms over her chest. "You're one to talk, Shalltear. At least I don't have to stuff my bra to feel important. Fake tits won't make you any taller, you know."
Shalltear gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her chest in mock offense. "Oh, please! These are perfectly natural and far more appealing than your flat chest. Besides, you wouldn't even know how to use them."
Aura rolled her eyes, unfazed. "Right, because you're such an expert with n. The only thing bigger than your chest is your ego, and they're both inflated."
That has to be illegal.
The temperature dropped at that.
Shalltear leaned closer to Aura, her smirk turning into a sly grin. "At least I have sothing to inflate. You're like a plank of wood. No wonder Alex-sama hasn't noticed you."
Aura huffed, her cheeks puffing out in frustration. "Yeah, well, at least I'm not a walking blood fetish with an attitude problem. You're more interested in Alex-sama's neck than his heart."
Shalltear's eyes sparkled with mischief, her playful nature getting the better of her. "Better his neck than his ankles. Do you even reach that high, Aura? Or do you need a stool?"
Aura clenched her fists, but I could see the glint of amusent in her eyes despite her irritation. "Keep it up, and I'll use that stool to knock so sense into you, bat-brain."
Then Shalltear turned to Mare, "And what about you, Mare?" she asked sweetly, "What do you think of all this? Surely you have an opinion on who's more appealing to Alex-sama?"
Mare blushed furiously, looking down and fidgeting with his cloak nervously. "W-Well, um... I don't think it's my place to say," He stamred, clearly uncomfortable with being dragged into the banter.
Shalltear's grin widened as she caught the slip. "Oh, co now, Mare. Surely you have so thoughts. After all, as a girl, you might see things differently than the rest of us."
A sudden silence fell over the amphitheater. I blinked in confusion. "Shalltear, what did you just say?"
She glanced at , still smiling. "What do you an, Alex-sama? I didn't say anything unusual."
I shook my head, still baffled. "No, I an what you said about Mare… being a girl."
Shalltear raised an eyebrow, clearly puzzled by my reaction. "Yes, Mare is a girl. Why are you so surprised, Alex-sama?"
Aura and Mare both turned to look at , equally confused. Mare's face was bright red, and she looked down, embarrassed by the sudden attention.
Mare being a girl? What the hell? If that's the case, then Mare doesn't have a sword but a scabbard instead. But when did that happen? I didn't change Mare's settings. Does that an Bukubukuchagama made her female, unlike in the canon?
Why am I only finding out about this now?
I quickly reached out with my mind. "Death, did you know about this?"
Death's voice echoed in my thoughts, her tone laced with amusent. "Of course, I knew about it."
I felt a flicker of annoyance. "Then why didn't you tell ?"
Death chuckled softly. "Well, if I told you earlier, I wouldn't get to see your current reaction."
I sighed, shaking my head. Of course, Death would find this entertaining. I looked back at Mare, who was still blushing and avoiding eye contact. Aura and Shalltear were watching expectantly, clearly enjoying the spectacle.
Maybe that's why Mare asked if she could marry , just like Aura did.
"Mare, you asked if you could marry , Right."
Mare hesitated for a mont, then nodded shyly. "Y-Yes, Alex-sama," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Well, if that's what you want, then I agree—just like with Aura. But only after you beco 120 years old, okay?"
Mare's eyes widened in surprise, and then a small, relieved smile appeared on her face. "Okay, Alex-sama. I'll wait," she replied, her voice more confident now.
Just then rest of Guardians also entered the arena.
