As Shinobu led Akeno through the winding hallways of the Butterfly Mansion, the air seed to thicken with anticipation. Akeno felt a strange thrill building up within her; this world was certainly unlike anything she had ever encountered before, and the presence of Alex here only made things more exciting. The landscape, the atmosphere, and the people—everything was so new, so fresh.
Shinobu’s pace was steady, her footsteps light and precise. Her presence exuded an aura of calm, even in the midst of a situation that could very well turn hostile at any mont. Akeno admired the way Shinobu carried herself—graceful, elegant, and deadly. In a way, she reminded Akeno of herself, though perhaps with a touch more restraint.
But that restraint was soon tested as they approached Alex’s room.
Akeno’s eyes glinted mischievously as they neared the door. The faint sound of moaning and soft laughter filtered through the wood, making Akeno pause and tilt her head. She listened carefully, then smirked at Shinobu.
"Oh, it seems he is with soone," Akeno remarked with an amused expression, her tone completely neutral as if it were a casual observation.
Shinobu blinked, a flicker of confusion crossing her face. She had expected Akeno to show so sort of reaction, perhaps a frown or an attempt to hide her emotions. Instead, the woman remained composed, her deanor unchanging.
"Isn’t he your lover?" Shinobu asked, her voice tinged with genuine curiosity. "Are you not upset that he is with soone else? You seem so calm."
Shinobu’s mind wandered for a mont, recalling the relationships she had seen in her own world. Uzui’s wives, for example, were always a tangle of emotions—jealousy, rivalry, and longing. She had assud that Akeno, being a lover of Alex herself, would perhaps show a little more possessiveness or irritation.
But Akeno just smiled, her eyes never leaving the door. The smile on her lips was warm yet playful, almost like a cat toying with its prey.
"Ara, ara~ Do I look calm to you?" Akeno said, her voice carrying a teasing lilt that made Shinobu pause.
Shinobu opened her mouth to respond, but she found herself cut off as Akeno continued, her expression shifting to one of mock indignation.
"He is enjoying himself while I’m agonizing here, and yet he doesn’t even think to invite to join. How rude." Akeno sighed dramatically, as if her entire world had been turned upside down by the sound coming from the other side of the door.
Shinobu was taken aback by Akeno’s reaction—or lack thereof. She had expected so kind of jealousy, a flash of possessiveness, but instead, Akeno seed completely at ease, almost as if she were enjoying the situation in her own way.
It left Shinobu montarily speechless. She had never t soone who handled this kind of situation with such grace. She quickly gathered herself, though, and offered a small apology.
"Sorry... I just assud... Shinobu started, but she was interrupted by Akeno, who raised a hand to silence her.
Akeno’s playful smile deepened as she looked at Shinobu with an almost mischievous gleam in her eye. "Oh, don’t misunderstand, Shinobu-chan. It’s just that... well, I have a certain way of thinking about this."
Before Shinobu could ask further questions, Akeno’s curiosity got the better of her. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she motioned to the door with her chin.
"Ah, well, if we’re going to listen to this, I might as well see for myself."
Shinobu’s eyes widened. "Wait, are you really—"
But it was too late. Akeno had already peeked through the small crack in the door, her body tense with anticipation as she squinted to see inside.
Akeno murmured, a smile playing on her lips. "It’s a pink-haired girl, and she is freaky, just like Issey."
Shinobu, montarily frozen, found herself compelled to take a look as well. She stepped closer to the door, unsure of whether she should intervene or let Akeno do whatever she wanted.
"Who is she?" Akeno asked, her voice low but tinged with amusent.
Shinobu, despite her initial resistance, leaned in to peer through the crack in the door. She saw a tangle of limbs, the soft glow of candlelight casting shadows on the figures inside. The sight made her heart skip a beat, but she managed to stay calm.
It only took a mont for her to recognize the woman who was entangled with Alex. The pink hair, the distinctive features... "Mitsuri," Shinobu said, almost as if the na slipped out without thought.
Akeno’s eyes sparkled with amusent. "Mitsuri, huh? She is good. Since they are enjoying themselves, I won’t disturb them." Akeno said as he slowly closed the door and turned to Shinobu.
"So have you slept with him?" Akeno asked absurdly.
Shinobu blinked at Akeno’s sudden question, her composed smile faltering for just a fraction of a second.
Akeno, of course, caught the montary lapse and grinned. "Ara, ara~ That reaction... it seems you haven’t, have you? Weird."
Shinobu’s smile returned, though it carried a hint of sothing unreadable. She tilted her head slightly, her usual composed deanor slipping back into place. "Oh? And why would that be weird?" she asked, her tone light but tinged with curiosity.
Akeno chuckled, folding her arms beneath her chest. "Well, I don’t think Alex would leave soone as beautiful as you behind." Her teasing smile widened. "Especially soone who keeps throwing these ’ara, ara~’s around so effortlessly."
Shinobu let out a small laugh, but her gaze sharpened ever so slightly. "You assu too much, Akeno-san," she replied smoothly. "Perhaps I simply don’t find the idea appealing."
Akeno arched an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Oh? That’s an interesting way of putting it." She took a slow step forward, watching Shinobu closely. "You wouldn’t be hiding anything from , would you?"
Shinobu held her ground, her hands clasped in front of her in a seemingly innocent pose. "Now, now, Akeno-san. You shouldn’t pry too much into a lady’s affairs," she said, her smile never wavering.
Akeno rely humd, her gaze twinkling with mischief. "I see, I see... Well, I suppose it doesn’t matter for now. But if you ever do, make sure to tell . I’d love to hear the details."
Shinobu shook her head in amusent. "You’re quite bold, aren’t you?"
Akeno’s smile turned playful. "I just like knowing everything about my dear Alex. After all, as one of his lovers, it’s my duty."
Shinobu’s gaze lingered on Akeno for a mont before she finally sighed and turned away from the door. "Shall we go? It’s a bit improper to stand outside soone’s room while they’re... occupied."
Akeno let out a light laugh. "Agreed. Lead the way, Shinobu-san."
