Now reading: Chapter 387: A deal with Clementine from Overlord: The Multiverse, a Action novel by BlackBolt.

"...Solution. Deal with Khajiit and the other n. I’ll take care of this woman."

With that, he quietly warned Solution to watch out above.

"Understood."

Khajiit’s expression was sowhere between a sneer and a grin. The cold-eyed Solution, on the other hand, showed nothing on her face.

"...Clentine, let’s talk over there."

I imdiately set out without waiting for Clentine to respond. He was very confident that she would not reject this, and the sound of her lazy footsteps behind him was ample proof of that.

Once they had gotten so distance away, a thunderous, eye-watering, bright discharge of lightning erupted between Solution and Khajiit. As though on cue, I and Clentine turned to look at each other.

"Could it be those people I killed in that store were your friends? Are you mad because I killed your little buddies~?"

She exaggerated her tone, her voice laced with false sympathy.

"Nothing personal, just business, you know? But I have to say, that magic caster was soooo funny. Until the very end, he actually believed that soone would save him. Can you believe it?" She giggled. "How could he hold out that long with just a tiny sliver of health? Ohhh, or maybe he was waiting for you to co to his rescue? Oops~ Too bad. I killed him."

I chuckled.

Clentine blinked.

"No need to apologize," I said, shaking my head.

She pouted, tapping a finger against her lips. "Really? That’s kind of boring. I love pissing people off when I bring up their dead friends! Usually, they go all, ’You monster! How dare you?!’ and get all angry and sloppy. You’re no fun! Or maybe they weren’t your friends?"

"Not really. If the circumstances were different, I might have done the sa thing as you. It’d be hypocritical to bla you for sothing I’d do myself." I t her gaze, my expression completely relaxed. "And, honestly, I didn’t even know any of them personally."

Clentine narrowed her eyes, searching for any trace of a lie.

A slow smirk ford on her lips.

"Oh, woe is ~" she sang mockingly. "It was such a terrible decision to fight ! That pretty girl over there is a magic caster, right? No way she can beat Khazi-chan~ If you guys swapped places, maybe you’d have had a chance. Though, between you and , that girl wouldn’t be able to beat either."

"A solution alone would be enough for you."

Clentine burst into laughter, holding her stomach. "Don’t be ridiculous! How could a asly little magic caster beat ? It’ll be over in two or three blows. It’s always been like that."

"I see," I mused. "So you’re that confident in your abilities as a warrior..."

Her grin widened. "Yup~ It goes without saying! No warrior in this country can beat —well, almost no warrior in this country can beat ."

I raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"

She placed a hand on her hip, looking smug. "According to my info from the Windflower Scripture, there are only five people in this country who could give a decent fight. Gazef Stronoff. Gagaran of Blue Rose. Luisenburg Albelion of Red Drop. Brain Unglaus. And the retired Vestia Croft Di Lofan. But let’s be real—none of them could actually beat . Not even if I didn’t use my country’s magic items."

I smirked.

"Well, that gave an idea," she purred, stepping closer. "Let’s make a deal. If I beat you, you’ll beco mine. Sound good"?

Her confident smile faltered for a fraction of a second. It was subtle—so subtle that most people wouldn’t have noticed.

It wasn’t just a joke.

Nobody had ever shown interest in her like that. She was always seen as a psychopath, a rabid dog. A killer.

But I wasn’t most people.

"That’s fine," I said casually.

Clentine blinked.

"...Wait, really?"

"Of course. But the deal should be fair, don’t you think?" I took a step forward, closing the distance between us. "If I win... you’ll be mine."

Clentine froze.

Her body tensed for just a split second before she threw her head back and laughed.

"Oooooh! That’s a good one! I almost fell for it!" She giggled, shaking her head. "You nearly got there~ You’re pretty good at using that pretty face of yours, huh?"

I didn’t answer. I simply smiled.

And then I added, "I’ll also give you power—enough to rival your brother."

Her expression snapped into sothing cold and serious.

I saw the exact mont her amusent vanished.

Her brother.

That was the trigger.

Clentine’s golden eyes darkened, and before I could react—

Shhkk!

A stiletto slid between my ribs, piercing my chest.

She had moved instantly, her speed exceeding even my expectations.

A perfect, lethal strike.

Clentine’s face was inches from mine, her grin triumphant.

"Oh nooo~ Looks like I win," she cooed, twisting the blade. "You really shouldn’t have let your guard down, pretty boy."

I looked down at the blade embedded in my chest.

Then, slowly, I looked back up at her.

And smiled.

A silly, almost carefree smile.

Clentine’s eyes widened slightly as I grabbed her wrist.

With my free hand, I pulled the stiletto from my chest. The wound closed almost instantly, flesh knitting together without a single drop of blood spilled.

Clentine stared.

"...What... the hell are you?" she whispered.

Instead of answering, I pulled her closer.

For the first ti, I saw a flicker of sothing unfamiliar in her eyes.

Uncertainty.

She tried to jerk away, but I held her firmly in place.

Then, I bit her.

My fangs pierced her neck, sinking into her warm, supple flesh.

Clentine gasped, her body going rigid as I drank deeply.

She shuddered, her breath hitching as I tasted her blood—rich, powerful, laced with an undertone of madness and battle-hardened strength.

It was intoxicating.

When I finally pulled away, she was breathing heavily, her cheeks flushed.

Her hands trembled slightly as she reached up to touch the fresh bite mark.

"You..." she panted, staring at with wide, disbelieving eyes.

Her lips parted, and then—

"You’re a vampire," she whispered.

I smirked, licking a trace of her blood from my lips.

"Now then," I murmured, running a finger along her jawline, "about that deal we made..."
