"Mr. Yan, I'm willing to take the risk!"

Yan Feifan arrived at Pan Lirong's hospital room. Hearing him state his position so directly, he was pleased, yet also a little puzzled.

"Mr. Pan, have you really made up your mind?"

Pan Lirong, propped up in his hospital bed, nodded and said, "I've made up my mind. I won't change it."

He then slowly explained, "I'm a man who believes in fate."

"Our first eting was quite dramatic."

"Your sister was driving you, and she nearly sent and Mr. Yue flying."

"The second ti we t, my condition was rapidly worsening and I was losing hope. That's when you brought a new sense of it."

"Now that I think about it carefully..."

Pan Lirong recalled the events, raised an eyebrow, and said, "It's as if heaven itself specifically sent you to !"

He chuckled and said, "I once heard a joke."

"It's about a very devout man who believed in God."

"One day, there was a great flood, and he was trapped on his roof. He was sure God would co to save him."

"Just then, a small boat ca by."

"The person on the boat told him to get in, but he refused, saying, 'God will surely co to save .'"

"The small boat left, and then a large ship ca."

"He refused again, insisting that God would co to save him."

"The water was about to subrge the roof when a helicopter arrived and lowered a rope for him."

"He still didn't take it, saying, 'God will definitely save !'"

"In the end, the man drowned."

"After he died, he went to heaven, t God, and demanded..."

"'I believed in you so much, why didn't you co to save ?'"

"God said, 'I sent the small boat, the large ship, and the helicopter to save you, but you refused them all!'"

After hearing the joke, Yan Feifan began to understand the man's mindset.

'He's starting to believe in fate.'

This was a common phenonon among patients with serious illnesses.

They would turn to believing in gods or Buddha, becoming exceptionally devout.

Others beca keen on releasing captive animals, hoping this act would reduce their sins and allow them to recover.

Doctors generally didn't intervene in such cases.

Spiritual strength was a kind of strength, after all.

Having sothing to believe in and the will to live was always better than giving up the fight and passively waiting for death.

'As for him seeing as a ssenger sent by heaven to save him,' Yan Feifan thought, 'dical staff are often called "angels in white." Being seen as a ssenger from heaven is fitting enough.'

He listened with a serious expression as Pan Lirong continued, "Actually, ever since I found out about the tumor, I've been hoping for a miracle every single day."

"If I'm like that man on the roof, refusing this and refusing that, how could a real miracle ever happen to ?"

Pan Lirong t Yan Feifan's gaze and said in a solemn voice, "Mr. Yan, my choosing your surgical plan isn't just about believing in fate."

"Mr. Lo went from opposing and scorning your proposal at the beginning to now accepting it and even participating. That alone is enough to prove that your plan is feasible."

Pausing for a mont, Pan Lirong took the cup of water his wife handed him, took a sip, and cleared his throat.

"Peking Union in the north, Xiangya in the south."

"I also used my connections to contact that doctor Mr. Lo ntioned last night, Ma Peilin."

"After he heard about your proposed plan, Mr. Yan, he said that it's theoretically feasible."

"But he also said it would be extrely difficult to execute in practice."

"The person responsible for the ethanol ablation injections would have to have an ultimate understanding of human anatomy. Only a peerless dical genius could possibly pull it off."

Pan Lirong smiled and said, "And Mr. Yan, I happen to know that you have a reputation for being a dical genius."

"Mr. Yan, I believe in you. Please, bring that miracle."

Pan Lirong then made a point of adding, "The sponsorship agreent for the dical research project we agreed upon is still valid."

"As long as my surgery is a success, I will add another four million in research funding in a lump sum."

Hearing this, Yan Feifan thought, 'Besides fate, Mr. Pan also seems to believe in the power of money. But I quite like that about him.'

"Mr. Pan, thank you for your trust. I will do everything in my power to live up to your expectations..."

After leaving the hospital room, Yan Feifan relayed Pan Lirong's words to Lo Jun and Wang Chuan in full detail.

The surgery could proceed, the previously sponsored funds wouldn't have to be returned, and there was a large sum of expected inco on top of that. Naturally, both Lo Jun and Wang Chuan were delighted.

They struck while the iron was hot, having Pan Lirong sign a series of pre-operative agreents and setting the surgery for nine o'clock the next morning.

The entire operation was expected to last six hours.

After leaving Pan Lirong's room, Wang Chuan brought up, "What about that patient with the spinal canal tumor, Liou Ming?"

Seeing both Lo Jun and Wang Chuan looking at him, Yan Feifan proposed, "This was our mistake. We might as well stick to the original agreent and waive all surgical fees."

"It's just that the surgery ti will have to be postponed..."

Yan Feifan thought for a mont and said, "Shall we tentatively schedule it for next Friday?"

Lo Jun nodded lightly. "That works."

For lunch, Yan Feifan ate takeout with Mr. Wang in his office at the plastic surgery center.

The takeout Mr. Wang ordered was, of course, different from your average takeout.

He and Yan Feifan each had a set al with four dishes, a soup, and fruit.

The containers weren't cheap plastic but eco-friendly paper bowls and plates lined with tin foil.

When Yan Feifan opened the sealed foil packaging, steam was still billowing out, making it look as if it had just been brought out from the kitchen.

He picked up a piece of beef tenderloin and tasted it.

It was tender, savory, and fragrant.

Yan Feifan secretly decided that once he had money, he wanted to enjoy life just like Mr. Wang.

"Mr. Wang, did that plan to smoke out the snakes at Zhiyin Beauty work?"

Wang Chuan grunted in affirmation. "Of course it worked. A few people have already confessed to privately."

"However, there are also so clever ones who only confessed to minor mistakes. And others who think they covered their tracks so well that they're pretending nothing happened."

"Once the university's disciplinary committee gathers enough evidence, they'll be dealt with and everything will be settled."

At this point, Wang Chuan offered Yan Feifan so advice, "A goose leaves its cry, water leaves its mark. Whenever you do sothing, there will always be a trace."

"Feifan, in the future, whatever you do, don't ever rely on blind luck."

Yan Feifan chuckled lightly. "Mr. Wang, you can rest assured."

"I've been a good boy my whole life. I would never do anything illegal or against the rules."

Wang Chuan couldn't help but laugh. "You? A good boy?"

"That thing you pulled with Mr. Miao proves you're as audacious as they co."

Yan Feifan gave a mischievous grin and argued, "Mr. Wang, I had already confird he was faking his madness. I was just verifying my dical judgnt."

"It was a dical issue."

"In dical research, people like us must advance bravely, fear no sacrifice, and know how to be flexible and resourceful."

Wang Chuan scoffed lightly and pointed a finger at Yan Feifan. "You... you're just making excuses."

"Let's not talk about that..."

Wang Chuan's expression turned serious. "With Mr. Pan's surgery, if it's successful, you'll make a na for yourself overnight."

"But if it's not successful, that's okay too. Just settle down and keep working hard. Youth is your greatest asset."

"Most importantly, on the path of dicine, failure is permitted. Don't put too much pressure on yourself."

Yan Feifan grunted in acknowledgnt. "Misdiagnosis, surgical failure, treatnt failure... no doctor can completely avoid them."

"Mr. Wang, I will work hard to reduce the probability and frequency of failure to the absolute minimum..."
