“Surprise?” Lu Ce frowned, instantly sensing that sothing was off. That wasn’t how Xie Antong usually spoke.
She must have done sothing on her end too, sothing that required syncing with him.
“Translate that? What do you an by surprise?”
“Surprise ans one million eight hundred thousand taels of silver...” Xie Antong blurted out, then quickly collected herself and corrected, “Just shoot already.”
“Three.”
“Two.”
“One!”
One way or another, the horror mystery ga in front of him had to be cleared. Lu Ce moved the index finger on his right hand and fired a shot straight through the desperate portrait in front of him.
You even had tears in your eyes? One shot and boom!
Imdiately after, a dense series of explosion sounds ca through the earpiece, crackling like firecrackers. Lu Ce frowned, not sure what was going on over there.
In less than a minute, two consecutive system prompt sounds echoed across the entire ga, like they had been perfectly coordinated.
【Seven Mysteries of the Campus, “The Portrait’s Tears,” Black Side challenge successful.】
【Challenge progress: 4/7, remaining ti: 22:14:26.】
【Seven Mysteries of the Campus, “The Walking Statue,” Black Side challenge successful.】
【Challenge progress: 5/7, remaining ti: 22:14:24.】
What seed like a lot of Seven Mysteries and various restrictions had felt overwhelming from the start.
But now, in less than two hours, they’d made rapid progress, breaking through level after level, and even faster than before.
Especially the last two rounds—no pre-arranged teammates, no prior coordination—everything happened just like that.
Park Bu Seong had now been pushed to the edge of a cliff, suddenly facing a do-or-die mont, with no buffer left.
But when Lu Ce heard the two successful completion alerts in his earpiece, he didn’t look pleased at all. In fact, he furrowed his brow, a bit irritated under that light green mask. (‵□′)
“This seems like the horror mystery you said you couldn’t find earlier, right?”
“You wanted to clear it yourself? I could’ve handled it—why create more complications?”
Lu Ce looked slightly annoyed. In his eyes, even if this move advanced the ga progress, it also introduced unnecessary risk.
He didn’t know what Xie Antong’s combat strength really was, and he didn’t care to find out. From the start of the ga, his plan had always been to clear everything himself—especially after the teammate restriction got added.
“If we didn’t do this, he’d predict your actions.”
“Doing this lets us predict his decisions.”
Xie Antong gave a rough explanation, but didn’t go into much detail.
“Also, doing it this way lets us confine the opponent’s remaining restrictions to a range we can anticipate and accept.”
She had prepared those lines in advance, but Lu Ce clearly wasn’t quite buying it.
“So what’s your combat ability then?”
Xie Antong had a bit of a headache. Sotis she wondered if she had overestimated Park Bu Seong. She still didn’t know how much authority the ga had granted him, which made her hesitant to say too much.
The other guy was the hunter. If she managed to guess his thinking, then the roles of hunter and prey could switch—but if he found out she’d figured him out, that would create a whole new ss.
All she could do was hope Park Bu Seong really was just a dumb*ss.
So she carefully said:
“I promise, from now on, all battles will be handled by you. You’re the key to victory.”
“Keep your earpiece on, and stay alert for the next restriction.”
Lu Ce: ......
Turns out, Park Bu Seong really was a dumb*ss.
Caught up in his heavy daydreaming, he didn’t think too deeply about strategy or counterstrategy—maybe that’s a flaw all people in dominant positions have.
When he heard that two horror mysteries had been cleared simultaneously—one of them even by “Blank”—his eyes nearly popped out.
What the f***?!
Why are your teammates so good at fighting, while mine are all brain-dead?
He never once thought maybe his own judgnt had gone wrong. Instead, he just started flailing around in panic.
Because “Sin” was too hard to restrict and deal with, he had already used all three restrictions on “Blank,” tying their fates completely together.
Now, if he had to co up with a whole new restriction plan to perfectly shut down “Sin,” he was honestly out of ideas.
——The sunk cost was too high.
If he didn’t target “Blank,” it ant his three previous restrictions were wasted!
And with two gas ending at once, he now had two new restriction chances, but no clear plan!
The last two remaining gas were both really tough. One of them was his trump card, originally intended for “Sin.”
The other trump card—the one he thought had gone unnoticed and was aid at “Blank,” “The Walking Statue”—yeah, that just got cracked....
So now, the only horror mystery that still gave him a sense of security was that last super-strong one—but he had zero intel on the two over there.
“Tch, guess this is the only way.....”
His mushy brain struggled to turn, but eventually, he stumbled upon the only option left.
——Forget using the trump card on “Sin.” Just find a way to hit “Blank” with the hardest ga and be done with it.
So, with no ti left to do a proper review or rethink, Park Bu Seong started entering his fourth restriction in the ga interface.
【Black Side players have completed the fourth Campus Mystery. Now, White Side must issue the fourth restriction.】
【——White Side Team “Park Bu Seong” will now be able to see the movents of Black Side mbers (view only, no dialogue)!】
As soon as the voice dropped, two blurry screens popped up in front of Park Bu Seong. The ga had eaten up one internal condition, but finally, he got to see sothing—none of his three teammates had sent anything back.
“Sin” was always wearing a mask, so he still looked the sa. But “Blank”—this was the first ti Park Bu Seong had ever seen his face.
The helt covered over sixty percent of it. Unless you knew the guy in real life, there was no way to recognize him.
“Why the hell does everyone keep hiding their faces......”
While he was watching, Xie Antong in the screen suddenly looked up and waved at his direction.
Park Bu Seong instantly felt awkward. He had no idea how she found that angle, but they had locked eyes perfectly.
He turned to the other screen—“Sin’s” screen.
Only to see Lu Ce’s light green mask with an indifferent expression, looking straight back at him.
The next second, Lu Ce pulled out Hell Roar and fired a shot at him!
