A blue fla burst from the tal lighter.
Thin smoke rose. Thomas Shannon took a deep puff on his cigarette and stood up. "Are all my n a bunch of useless trash?"
"Young Master, I was wrong." Charlie River respectfully bowed his head.
He was only objectively analyzing the situation, trying to figure out which thod would minimize casualties and difficulty. However, he had inadvertently stepped on his Young Master’s landmine.
"You know you were wrong, so why aren’t you getting ready?"
Thomas Shannon’s cold eyes swept over him, and Charlie River shuddered. He said respectfully, "Yes, I’ll make the arrangents imdiately!"
He turned to leave. Standing at the entrance of the study room, Charlie River turned back again and said with conviction, "Young Master, rest assured, we will complete the mission!"
In the restaurant, Alia Shaw was eating breakfast. She ate very slowly, lost in thought, so much so that she didn’t even notice when Sophie Sullivan ca in.
Sophie Sullivan pulled out a chair and sat down at the dining table.
Alia Shaw heard the noise and looked up abruptly, her gaze eting Sophie’s sowhat cold eyes. She put down the knife and fork in her hand.
"Ha ha, such a delicate person. Shouldn’t you be recuperating in the dical office instead of coming out?" Alia Shaw picked up a napkin and leisurely wiped the corner of her mouth.
Sophie had a servant bring her breakfast. She picked up the purified water on the tabletop and took a couple of sips. "I co and go as I please. Do I need to report to you?"
"Quite the sharp tongue. I wonder what on earth Thomas Shannon sees in you." Alia Shaw’s remark was laced with resentful sarcasm.
Such a woman—not gentle, not submissive. It’s truly unimaginable what Thomas Shannon could possibly find attractive about her.
She and I are completely different types.
Thomas Shannon loved ** two years ago. A person’s tastes don’t change that drastically.
Soone like that maniac could never be the type Thomas Shannon likes.
The woman Thomas Shannon wants must be gentle enough, submissive enough, and most importantly, obedient enough!
Just look at that maniac. How does she fit any of those criteria?
She doesn’t et a single one of them, and her ugly face is utterly nauseating.
And yet... Thomas Shannon still dotes on her.
Taking a huge step back, even if her face healed one day and she did beco a beauty, it wouldn’t change the fact that she’s fundantally not Thomas Shannon’s type.
"Maniac, this soup was specially prepared for you by the Chief Chef. Drink plenty of it; it’s good for your wound healing."
The servants were also fickle. In the beginning, when Thomas Shannon’s attitude towards Alia Shaw was ambiguous, they had treated Alia with utmost respect. They had completely treated her as their future mistress.
Now, seeing the situation clearly and knowing that the maniac was the one Thomas Shannon truly favored, they served her with even greater diligence.
Sophie gave Alia Shaw a cursory glance before looking away. "Thank you."
"You’re welco. It’s what we should do." The servant carefully retreated to one side, bowing her head and quietly attending to her duties.
As she drank her soup, Sophie didn’t forget to "kindly" inform Alia Shaw, "I’ll be going on a business trip with Thomas Shannon later. You probably won’t be able to see for a while. You must be in a terrible mood, right?"
"What did you say?"
Alia Shaw clenched her napkin. Thomas Shannon is taking *her* on a business trip?
What a joke!
That woman just had surgery! Even if he needed a female companion, it should be **, not that maniac, right?
