The smile on Jim Jones’ lips stiffened. His gaze, as he looked at her, was calm and undisturbed. "Are you apologizing for him?"
Feeling guilty, Fluffy Zane lowered her head. She knew she had no right to apologize for William Guillen’s mistakes, but she couldn’t help it. Seeing Jim Jones’ current state, her heart was uncontrollably consud with guilt. She didn’t know which of William Guillen’s words were true and which were false. However, she trusted her intuition more; William Guillen’s targeting and framing of Jim Jones definitely had sothing to do with her. It was just that he wouldn’t admit it. Or perhaps, it was just her own wishful thinking.
Under the light, the brightness in Jim Jones’ eyes gradually dimd.
After a good while of silence, he finally smiled. "Alright, don’t look so glum."
Fluffy Zane looked up. Jim Jones’ hand landed gently on her head, ruffling her hair softly. "Fluffy, you’re most beautiful when you smile." His eyes shone brightly as he said, word by word, "So, don’t look so glum anymore."

Fluffy Zane nodded. "Yes. What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you."
Back then, in order to pursue William Guillen, she had personally cooked for him and learned everything he liked. Billiards, golf, racing... She, who was afraid of heights, had even learned parachuting—despite her fear—just because he liked it. The mont she jumped from the cabin, the feeling of weightlessness almost killed her. Jim Jones’ voice pulled her wandering thoughts back. "Can you make noodles? I’d like so tomato and egg noodles."
Jim Jones’ smile was still gentle; it was as if the harm he had suffered had left no shadow in his heart at all.
That was what Fluffy Zane most wanted to see.
Fluffy Zane nodded repeatedly. "I can. Wait a mont, I’ll go downstairs and make the noodles for you now."
Downstairs, Mrs. Jones saw Fluffy Zane coming down and imdiately got up from the sofa. "Fluffy, are you leaving already?"
She had only just arrived, and now she was leaving. It seed her son had no chance.
A trace of disappointnt inevitably appeared in Mrs. Jones’ eyes.
Fluffy Zane shook her head. "No, Jim Jones said he wanted tomato and egg noodles. I’m going to the kitchen to make a bowl for him." She paused before asking, "Aunt, where’s the kitchen?"
The disappointnt in Mrs. Jones’ eyes was instantly replaced by a smile. She took a few steps forward, holding Fluffy Zane’s arm. "Co on, Aunt will take you there!"
Her tone was filled with indescribable excitent and eagerness.
