"Miss, you didn’t see it, but Young Master Guillen was so angry, it looked like smoke was about to co out of his head. How satisfying!" The servant grinned triumphantly.
The servant had been influenced by Mrs. Zane and, having often heard about how William Guillen hurt Fluffy Zane, harbored so hostility towards him. Seeing him practically lose his mind with anger today, the servant found it imnsely satisfying!
Fluffy Zane turned around and looked at the grinning servant. She pursed her lips. "You’re quite happy, aren’t you?"
The servant innocently replied, "Miss, I’m very happy. Just think, Young Master Guillen is always making you angry, and today you finally got to make him angry in return. How gratifying! Our Miss can’t always be the one to suffer; Young Master Guillen’s arrogance needed deflating too!"
Fluffy Zane raised her hand and playfully tapped the servant on the head. "Alright, enough gossiping."
The servant muttered sullenly, "Yes, Miss."
After the servant left, Fluffy Zane couldn’t help but laugh. Was William Guillen really that angry, smoke practically coming out of his head? Hmm, that must have been a truly interesting scene.
「Country F.」
"Master, there’s news about Miss Cecilia Branford!"
The attendant was so excited that he forgot the basic rules and, without knocking, pushed open the study door.
Standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows, his figure solitary as he exhaled clouds of smoke, Lucifer turned his head slightly. "Where is Cecilia Branford?"
"Thomas Shannon has taken Miss Cecilia Branford back to Shannons’ Manor. Our people managed to get a clear photo of her. Take a look."
The attendant handed the photo to Lucifer. With a cigarette between his fingers, Lucifer took the photo with his other hand.
The mont he saw the photo, he was visibly shaken, a storm instantly brewing in his icy blue eyes. "What happened?"
"Master, we don’t know. Miss Cecilia Branford’s face... it’s ruined."
"Damn it! Damn it all!"
Lucifer’s fingertips trembled as he caressed the ruined half of Cecilia’s face. He seed to understand sothing.
Cecilia was such a proud woman. What she prided herself on most wasn’t her family background, but her exquisite beauty as the No.1 Beauty of Country F. Her face was ruined, her greatest asset destroyed. That was why she had been so reluctant to return. That was why she hid under Thomas Shannon’s protection, refusing to show herself. She wouldn’t contact him, and she certainly wouldn’t return to her own country.
Lucifer took a deep breath, irritably extinguishing the cigarette butt. "Prepare everything. I’m going to Country A."
The attendant hesitated, wanting to speak, but Lucifer’s sharp, cutting gaze swept over him. "Speak your mind."
The attendant lowered his head nervously. "Master, there’s more good news. Miss Cecilia Branford’s Gaby has been found."
"Where was it found?" A hint of a smile finally touched Lucifer’s lips.
A bewitching smile blood at the corner of his mouth.
The attendant said, "Thomas Shannon took Miss Cecilia Branford on an adventure to the Sahara Desert. For so unknown reason, they returned much earlier, cutting the trip by more than half from the 10 days previously ntioned by the K Group. Gaby was found in the Sahara Desert; it was injured and limping on one of its hind legs."
Gaby was injured? Cecilia’s face was also ruined... Who could have done this? Who could have been so ruthless to his Cecilia?
"Take to see Gaby first."
Gaby was Cecilia’s beloved pet. She had raised it by hand since it was a cub.
Gaby had been by Cecilia’s side since it was a cub, growing up imrsed in her scent.
