"What notebook?"
Thomas Shannon’s hand, which had been rubbing his forehead, paused, and his eye color deepened.
Could the notebook really have survived that huge fire?
"It’s likely notes from a doctor who injected the sedative into the maniac. It records the daily dosage of dicine and the maniac’s reactions," William Guillen said slowly. "I’m wondering, could the contents of this notebook have been intended for the culprit pulling the strings?"
"How so?"
"Because the content of the notebook is written in English," William Guillen said. "According to my investigation, there are no foreign employees in the asylum, so the content of this notebook isn’t intended for people from Country A."
Thomas Shannon nodded and took a deep breath. "Keep the notebook safe for now. Also, there’s no need to investigate Sophie Sullivan’s background anymore."
"No need to investigate?!"
William Guillen’s voice suddenly rose in pitch, his surprise evident. "Thomas, weren’t you the one who wanted to investigate in the first place? Why not now?"
"I already know who she is."
As he spoke, Lucifer’s face flashed through Thomas Shannon’s mind, and his bright brow furrowed sharply. Dammit! No one is taking Sophie Sullivan from my side! The woman I found is mine! Whether she’s Sophie Sullivan or Cecilia Branford, she’s just my maniac.
William Guillen was astonished. He already knows? So soon? Where did he get this information?
"Thomas, how did you find out about the maniac’s identity?"
Thomas Shannon’s expression darkened, his voice squeezed out from between his teeth, "Her childhood sweetheart showed up."
Childhood sweetheart?
Hearing those two words, William Guillen could already imagine Thomas Shannon’s expression.
He chuckled slyly. "So, is this childhood sweetheart your love rival? Don’t answer yet, let guess. Anyone who can make our Young Master Shannon this angry must be a formidable opponent. Thomas, as a friend, I can only wish you good luck."
"Get lost!" Thomas Shannon snorted coldly.
"Hahaha... Don’t get all defensive now. We can talk this over properly."
"Guillen Junior, are you asking for a beating?"
William Guillen exclaid in frustration, his smile vanishing. "Thomas, I told you not to call Guillen Junior."
"Hmph." Young Master Shannon responded with a fearless, cold smirk.
After bickering for a while, William Guillen finally turned serious. "Alright, tell . What is the maniac’s real identity?"
"Heir to the Onassis Family of Country F."
Thomas Shannon’s casual remark made William Guillen leap to his feet. He was even more shocked than when he had first learned that Thomas already knew the maniac’s identity.
"Don’t tell it’s *that* Onassis Family—the oil tycoon Onassis Family!"
"Yes."
"Don’t tell the maniac is the Little Princess of Oil!"
"She is."
William Guillen was speechless.
Thomas, you’ve really struck gold! To think you just picked up a random woman outside an asylum, and she turns out to be wealthy enough to rival a nation! If you two get together, a true power couple, your combined fortune... it would be astoundingly imnse!
William Guillen said faintly, "Thomas, I haven’t offended the maniac, have I?"
"What do you think?"
William Guillen was speechless again.
Once the shock subsided and his rationality returned, William Guillen noticed so discrepancies. "Wait, that’s not right. Even if the maniac is the heir to the Onassis Family, why would she be in Country A? And what happened to her face?"
William Guillen also rembered she had amnesia. Not only had she lost her mory, but her face was disfigured, and her voice had been ruined at first, too.
