"I care about you. Are you surprised?"
Lucifer helplessly touched his forehead. "Cecilia, of course I’m happy that you care about , but... I still don’t want you to worry too much."
"Lucifer, you have to take care of yourself and not get sick. Can you promise that?"
Hearing this, Lucifer shuddered. Had she discovered sothing?
His heart pounded violently. After a long pause, Lucifer finally said in a hoarse voice, "Alright, I promise you."
Only then did Sophie Sullivan smile with satisfaction. She couldn’t wait to tell Lucifer about the happy things she had done today and suddenly asked, "Lucifer, do you think I’m terrible?"
"No, my Cecilia has always lived by the principle ’I won’t attack unless I’m attacked.’ If Cecilia made a move on her, the other person must have been at fault first."
"Lucifer, you understand best!"
Sophie Sullivan truly felt that Lucifer was a good friend with whom she could share anything. Perhaps this was due to the understanding and tacit bond they had developed from growing up together.
After chatting with Lucifer for a while, Sophie Sullivan reminded him to rest well before she hung up the phone.
Putting away her mobile phone, Sophie Sullivan turned and returned to the castle.
Thomas Shannon was still upstairs; without a second thought, Sophie Sullivan headed up.
「Study room.」
Charlie River stood before the desk, carefully glancing at the man seated in the boss chair, puffing out clouds of smoke.
"Young Master..."
"Hmm?"
Charlie River hesitated, about to speak but then stopping. Thomas Shannon raised his eyelids and shot him a cold glance.
"Minimus Hart’s injuries... I’m afraid it will take at least one month for her to recover."
When the incident occurred today, a maidservant had imdiately reported it to Charlie River, and he, in turn, had instantly relayed the news to Thomas Shannon.
In other words, Thomas Shannon of K Group already knew, instantly, everything Sophie Sullivan had done to Minimus Hart at the equestrian center.
"Hmm."
Thomas Shannon’s expression was indifferent, betraying no emotion.
Through the swirling smoke, Charlie River could only see the man’s somber eyes. He pondered for a mont before asking, "Since Minimus Hart is injured, should her position as maid leader be given to soone else?"
"Why change her?" Thomas Shannon’s lips curved into a sneer.
"Minimus Hart has done so many things behind your back. If she isn’t punished, I’m afraid she’ll beco increasingly lawless."
Charlie River’s concern was reasonable.
But Thomas Shannon had his own plans. He waved the hand holding his cigarette. "Do you know why I’ve kept her around all this ti?"
"Why?" Charlie River truly couldn’t understand.
Everything Minimus Hart had done had been thoroughly investigated, including the matter concerning George Stanford; there was already testimony and physical evidence.
Why did Young Master still keep her?
Why would the Young Master, always fair in rewards and punishnts, yet cold and ruthless, specifically show Minimus Hart rcy?
Could it really be because she had made ritorious contributions multiple tis?
"Short-sighted." Thomas Shannon’s lips curved slightly. He tapped the table surface twice with one hand. "Who does the little maniac hate the most?"
Without hesitation, Charlie River answered, "Minimus Hart and Raina Bell." And you...
Charlie River dared not utter the last part.
Inside the study room, the crystal chandelier shone brilliantly. Under its light, the man’s handso face appeared even more strikingly attractive.
His inherent nobility and chillingly formidable aura intertwined, complenting each other perfectly.
Even Charlie River, himself a man, couldn’t help but marvel that the Young Master was truly God’s favored child.
That face, as if ticulously sculpted by God, bore witness to imnse divine favor.
Thomas Shannon’s sexy thin lips curved slightly. He flicked the cigarette ash, every movent exuding elegance.
