Gaby seed to be pressing down on him, but its two front limbs were still on the ground, supporting its huge body.
Its large head kept nuzzling Lucifer’s face, licking and rubbing affectionately, a clear display of its fondness for him.
"That’s enough, Gaby." Lucifer wiped his face, which was covered in its drool.
Gaby howled and imdiately stopped all movent.
It then lay down beside him, its big eyes looking at Lucifer. Lucifer patted its head and comforted it, "I know you’re excited, but you need to recover before you see Cecilia Branford. Cecilia Branford would be heartbroken to see you injured."
Also, he had to find a way to sneak Gaby past those people’s informants and secretly get Gaby to Country A.
Since Cecilia Branford didn’t want to co back yet, it ant she didn’t want anyone to know her whereabouts.
Lucifer would naturally keep it perfectly concealed for her.
After playing with Gaby for the entire morning, Lucifer left the courtyard.
As soon as he stepped into the restaurant, a servant approached. "Your Highness," the servant reported, "Onassis Old Castle called. They said Miss Cecilia Branford has woken up."
Lucifer, who was cleaning his hands with a hot towel, paused. The corners of his lips curved into a cold, indifferent smile. "Awake?"
"Yes."
Lucifer snorted coldly. The real Cecilia Branford is still in Country A. He was curious to see who Cecilia of Onassis really was.
「Country A.」
Three days passed.
Good news ca from the dical office. Sophie Sullivan rushed there imdiately. The doctor said that a foreign expert had already developed a dicine.
"Really?" Sophie Sullivan asked, her excitent barely concealed. "What are we waiting for? Let’s save Old Mr. Standford quickly!"
"Easy there, maniac. The dicine is on its way back to the country. It probably won’t arrive until tomorrow."
Hearing the doctor’s words, Sophie’s anxious heart finally settled.
She sighed in relief. The heavy stone that had been weighing on her heart finally disappeared.
After checking on George Stanford for a while, she went to Minimus Hart’s room.
After that day, Minimus Hart’s wound had beco infected. Due to a lack of tily treatnt, it had already festered and worsened.
For the worsened wound, the doctor had to use a disinfected knife to cut away the festering, decaying flesh and reapply dicine.
Minimus Hart endured excruciating pain and, in just three short days, had beco emaciated, a shadow of her forr self.
Hearing footsteps, Minimus Hart, who had only just fallen asleep, opened her eyes with a start.
Seeing Sophie, her pupils contracted, and a sliver of fear crept into her heart.
"Minimus Hart, I never thought you’d see a day like this."
Sophie stood by the bedside, a cold smile on her face, a hint of satisfaction stirring deep within her. "You thought I’d be helpless if you hid the antidote and didn’t hand it over? You were wrong. The doctor has already developed a dicine that can save Old Mr. Standford. Now, you’re utterly worthless."
"Impossible!" Minimus Hart stared at her malevolently.
Impossible! She must be bluffing. That dicine... she got it from an old man who specialized in biochemical research when she was on a mission in Country M. Apart from that old man, no one could develop the antidote. The antidote was in her hands; besides that one bottle, she didn’t believe anyone else could develop an antidote to save George Stanford. Sophie must be tricking her!
"Possible or not, you’ll find out soon enough. Once Old Mr. Standford wakes up, I’ll bring him to see if there’s any hope of recovery for that ugly face of yours."
"Ugly face"—Minimus Hart had once used those words to describe her. Now, she could finally give her a taste of her own dicine.
