As Sophie Sullivan spoke, she grew increasingly irritated. She raised her hand and pounded on his chest twice.
A faint feeling of stuffiness weighed inside her heart, a suffocating tightness in her chest. She could neither get it up nor push it down; it was smothering her.
She clenched his shirt with one hand, her eye color cold and detached. "The only reason I treat her this way is that she started it. You seem to have forgotten what happened when I first arrived at the manor, but I haven’t. The reason I went crazy and hurt myself out of nowhere was entirely because of Minimus Hart’s mischief!"
"What did she do?"
"She injected with so dicine, and I don’t know what it was. Later, when she realized the affair was about to be discovered, she injected with an antidote."
Sophie Sullivan had never told Thomas Shannon about this before.
One reason was disdain; the other was that even if she had spoken up, Minimus Hart was his maid, loyal to him, and he might not believe her words. Instead, he might think she was being willful and domineering again. Moreover, so much ti had gone away since the affair, and she had no evidence other than herself. So she couldn’t accuse Minimus Hart.
"What else?" Thomas Shannon’s cold eyes darkened, and his deep voice lost its playful tone, becoming more somber.
Sophie Sullivan snorted. "There’s plenty Minimus Hart has done to , both openly and secretly. In short, I treat her this way because she brought it upon herself! I won’t let anyone harm and repeatedly provoke to my face."
And most importantly... with Alia Shaw gone, Minimus Hart brought in Raina Bell. She vaguely felt that Minimus Hart had her reasons for doing so; otherwise, she wouldn’t casually pull out a maid and make Thomas Shannon hesitate about her. At that ti, if she hadn’t thrown tantrums and argued with him because of Raina Bell, Thomas Shannon might not have sent Raina Bell on a mission. The reason Raina Bell dared to boldly take advantage of Thomas Shannon’s drunken situation and try to force a consummation was perhaps because Thomas Shannon had given her the wrong impression on weekdays? Or perhaps... given her hope? Otherwise, how could a re female slave dare to make a move on him? After the affair, Raina Bell wanted to kill her to silence her. Even so, when she showed Thomas Shannon the video recorded on her mobile phone, he was angry, but he didn’t really punish Raina Bell. This was the most unbearable thing for Sophie Sullivan! It was like a fish bone stuck in her throat!
Thomas Shannon gently stroked her flushed face with one hand—a result of her anger and agitation—and gently wiped away the thin layer of sweat on her fair skin. "If there is anything else you haven’t told , just say it all."
"Do you know that Minimus Hart and Raina Bell are in cahoots?"
"Hmm..." Thomas Shannon vaguely brushed it aside.
Sophie Sullivan snorted coldly. "And you call yourself the master! Your female slaves almost played you for a fool!"
"Is that so?"
Thomas Shannon gave a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, his eye color indifferent, not angered by her words.
Sophie Sullivan moved his hand away and tossed it aside in defiance. She turned and walked toward the dark cell.
Minimus Hart’s body trembled like a leaf in the autumn wind. Her eyes filled with terror as she watched Charlie River approach step by step, the horse whip in his hand.
"Charlie River... my fate today will be yours tomorrow. We have devoted ourselves to serving the Young Master, and this is the end we get... Charlie River, for the sake of our acquaintance of so many years, give a chance to live..."
