Ruan ngxi wrapped up her work handover by Thursday and arranged a dinner with colleagues on Friday night. With nothing much to do during the day, she made plans with Jiang Chengsi to check out the work environnt.

"Although the club hasn’t officially opened yet, you can go and familiarize yourself with the environnt first." Jiang Chengsi said seriously about the job.

"So when will we et tomorrow? Where should we et?"

"Just at the club, around ten in the morning."

Since it was Ruan ngxi’s first ti at the workplace, she definitely needed to prepare well, even though the club hadn’t officially opened to the public yet.

It couldn’t even be found on the map. Even the taxi driver couldn’t locate it, so she had to call Jiang Chengsi to figure out the general location.

"You’re very close to the club right now, just get off and wait for by the roadside. I’ll be there in five to six minutes."

Ruan ngxi had no choice but to get off and wait. Though it was already autumn, the temperature difference between day and night was significant, and standing under the sun was still quite hot.

But soon, Jiang Chengsi arrived, riding a motorcycle, like a gust of wind.

With a roar of the engine, the bike ca to a steady halt in front of her.

"It’s actually just over there." Jiang Chengsi took off his helt, swept his hair back, and pointed to a place not far away, "It’s just that the main gate isn’t done yet."

Ruan ngxi squinted, and indeed, there was a construction site in the distance.

"Let’s head over then." Jiang Chengsi eyed her up and down, noticing her proper work attire—a pencil skirt, suit jacket—the typical corporate office outfit.

But this kind of attire inevitably appeared a bit dull.

Jiang Chengsi said bluntly, "You don’t need to dress like this when you co to my place in the future."

Ruan ngxi glanced down at her outfit and nodded in agreent.

"At my place, co as beautifully and comfortably as you wish, as long as it’s appropriate and decent. You wearing this makes even feel restricted."

"I understand." Ruan ngxi nodded with a smile.

Which girl doesn’t want to dress beautifully every day? But in a big corporation, formal attire is a must during work hours, and when there’s a break, she’s too exhausted to go out, so the pretty clothes rarely get worn.

"My motorcycle isn’t suitable for carrying won, and besides, your skirt isn’t convenient for riding..." Jiang Chengsi’s motorcycle had only carried Jiang Shiyi, Jiangjiang, and Taotao before, and never any won.

Riding a motorcycle requires the body to be glued tightly together, which he tries hard to avoid.

"I understand, then..." Ruan ngxi didn’t intend to ride his motorcycle; the club wasn’t that far anyway.

"It’s the gate under construction over there, you can see it, right?" Jiang Chengsi pointed out into the distance.

"I can."

"I’ll go ahead and wait for you there, take your ti, no rush."

"..."

What could Ruan ngxi say? She could only nod in agreent. She had worn heels to look sharp today, which now made it even more uncomfortable.

Watching him ride off on his motorcycle, buzzing away, she felt a twinge of irritation in her heart:

Was resigning the right decision? What kind of lousy boss had she ended up with?

At least he could have sent soone to pick her up instead of letting her walk?

Yet thinking of how Jiang Chengsi had no dress code requirents and his wild and laid-back nature, like monsoon winds across the wilderness, she had just left the bureaucratic system. Although initially, it felt too intense and hard to adapt,

but upon further reflection, working with him shouldn’t be too tiring.

...

After finally walking to the club, Jiang Chengsi had already made her coffee and laid out so cookies and wafers.

"You must be tired, have a snack and take a rest. Do you have a car? If not, I can provide you with one for your commute." The club was located in the suburbs, quite a distance from where Ruan ngxi lived.

Jiang Chengsi flashed her an utterly harmless smile.

Earlier Ruan ngxi had felt a bit resentful, but thinking now, what a heavenly boss she had—her decision to change jobs seed very wise.

But a few minutes later...

She realized she was totally wrong.

Heavenly boss?

This was just a crappy boss.

When it ca to racing matters, Jiang Chengsi’s professionalism and pickiness were simply strikingly annoying.

And considering racing itself is a very dangerous sport, his pursuit of excellence in certain aspects was almost to the point of harshness.

Ruan ngxi had initially thought that being away from the corporate office, she would enjoy a relaxed and pleasant work environnt; but his many requirents were giving her a headache.

The key problem was she had never dealt with racing matters before, and many technical terms were completely incomprehensible to her, not even manageable to note down with pen, so she deliberately recorded everything on her phone to go back and study hard.

"That’s all I ask; work well, and I won’t treat you badly," Jiang Chengsi said, flashing her a particularly bright smile.

"I understand." Ruan ngxi forced a small smile at the corners of her mouth, gripping the pen tightly, stabbing it into the notebook in front of her.

She almost wanted to pierce through the pages.

"It’s just that there are many areas I’m not very clear on, so I might need more guidance from you," Ruan ngxi stated frankly.

"Sure, no problem, just don’t contact too casually. Generally, try not to disturb during the day as I have more free ti in the evening."

"..."

What kind of boss doesn’t work during the day and only cos out at night?

Jiang Chengsi yawned as he spoke, "Sorry, I got up too early today, a bit sleepy."

"It’s okay." Ruan ngxi tried hard to maintain a smile.

She increasingly felt that this club might go under.

**

Tang Wan knew Ruan ngxi would visit the club today to check out the work environnt and was aware that she had arrangents in the evening, so she specifically invited her over for lunch.

But by the ti she arrived at Guantang Villa, it was already past two in the afternoon.

"I invited you for lunch and you’re here for afternoon tea?" Tang Wan frowned, "Have you eaten yet? There are only so leftovers at ho. How about I make you so noodles and stir-fry a dish?"

"Not yet."

"Weren’t you eting Fourth Bro to see the new work environnt? How co you haven’t eaten?"

Ruan ngxi peeked into the house, and Tang Wan chuckled, "Don’t bother looking, Fifth Bro isn’t here. He went to Grandpa’s to discuss the wedding."

Ruan ngxi nodded and took off her coat, "Don’t ntion it, the new boss has so many demands. Fourth Lord wanted to take to lunch but I refused. It felt awkward. Then I got stuck in traffic from the club to your place, which delayed this long."

"Let get you sothing to eat."

"I’ll do it myself. Your belly is so big now that I’m a little scared seeing you go into the kitchen."

Ruan ngxi cooked herself a bowl of noodles and, while eating, talked to Tang Wan about her new job.

"... It’s not like I deliberately want to complain about Fourth Lord. It’s not that I want to ride his motorcycle, it’s just, how is he going to get a girlfriend acting like this?"

"I don’t mind, but for any girl who has a crush on him, the little sparks of love get imdiately extinguished by his words, ’pzzz pzzz—’."

"He usually seems indifferent to everything, so I thought work would be easygoing, but didn’t expect..."

Recalling a bunch of tasks soone assigned her, Ruan ngxi suddenly felt the noodles in her mouth were tasteless.

Tang Wan tried hard to stifle her laughter.

"You’re laughing? Even when I worked with Qi Zeyan, he wasn’t this picky! I was so shocked, I really regret quitting my last job."

"Pfft—" Tang Wan couldn’t hold it in.

"Tang Xiaowan!" Ruan ngxi took a deep breath.

"I understand you, I’ve been there, I can totally empathize."

"Don’t tell you knew how Fourth Lord is at work and didn’t warn sooner."

"Didn’t I ask you if you’d regret it? You said you were just scared."

"I..."

Ruan ngxi fell silent, finishing her al and washing the dishes, she was still thinking about it. Today counted as the first official eting with the new boss and a tour of the work environnt, as she considered posting sothing on her social circle.

[A brand new and beautiful beginning~]

Along with a partial picture of the club.

When Qi Zeyan saw the post, Jiang Chengsi had already comnted on it.

Jiang Chengsi: [Work well, wish us smooth cooperation.]

Assistant Xiaoruan: [Yes, boss, thank you for this opportunity. I will work hard, let’s do our best \(^o^)/~]

Qi Zeyan snorted coldly; changing jobs seed to make her quite happy.

Little did he know that Ruan ngxi was already starting to regret it, but since the boss left a comnt, she had to fawn over it. Tang Wan saw her response to Jiang Chengsi and was almost doubled over with laughter.

"Xixi, why are you putting yourself through this, saying things against your will."

Ruan ngxi sighed: "You think I want to? But he’s the boss, and it’s tough for us small employees."

"I never thought Fourth Lord would be like this, it’s terrifying."

"I used to only know Third Master was picky because of his germaphobia, but what’s with Fourth Lord?"

"Though after this, I don’t doubt for a mont that they are real brothers."

Tang Wan smiled at her, "Racing itself is very dangerous, so being stringent has its benefits. If there’s ever an accident, it could endanger lives."

"I understand the reasoning..." Ruan ngxi lay back on the sofa in a slouch, "I just feel like my work enthusiasm has already been depleted in these few hours."

"You used to tell occasionally about a picky custor, and I made fun of you. Now I finally understand that feeling..."

"Who do you think is more picky, Fourth Bro or this custor of yours?"

Tang Wan frowned in thought, "Probably about the sa."

Ruan ngxi was already daydreaming. Why did she quit? She must have been out of her mind.
