Amber found the place strangely comforting.

The clothes.

The cuisine.

The Blanks had already developed a cultural hub that focused heavily on fashion and food, turning the city into a pilgrimage site with far-reaching influence. Designers experinted with fabrics and styles, blending elegance with practicality. Tailors worked openly in shops, and custors discussed trends like scholars debating philosophy.

The food was no less impressive.

Stalls and restaurants served dishes from all regions, so familiar and so completely new. Spices were balanced, flavors layered, and presentation treated like an art form. Amber often found herself wandering aimlessly, tasting one dish after another until she realized hours had passed.

And if that was not enough, there were operas and stage dramas perford regularly in public halls.

So were lighthearted.

So were tragic.

So were surprisingly deep.

In the anti, Ethan had quietly contributed to this cultural growth. He did not rember full stories from his past life, but he rembered key details and emotional beats. He passed those fragnts to narrators and playwrights, who then added their own creativity and emotions, shaping them into complete works.

The results were… intense.

Many of the most famous plays were classic romance stories, ending in heartbreak or bittersweet sacrifice. Audiences cried openly, so leaving theaters in silence, others sobbing uncontrollably.

Ethan watched one such performance and could not help but wonder if these people had so strange tastes.

However, all good things eventually ca to an end.

Amber's carefree days were halted the mont Lancelot's son appeared.

Ethan and Julia stood side by side as they faced the imposing young man who had just arrived. He stood tall, his posture straight, his expression calm. Although he masked it well, Ethan could clearly feel the monster hidden beneath that calm surface.

"Damn," Ethan thought. "He must be beyond Legendary rank."

While Ethan observed him, the young man also kept an eye on Ethan.

"So young, yet so talented," Rake thought inwardly.

What surprised him the most, however, was not Ethan's strength.

It was his family.

The number of children.

The wives.

It was not excessive compared to what Rake had seen in noble circles, but still, seeing soone reach such a stage while carrying so much emotional baggage shook his worldview.

Rake had always believed that won, no, worldly emotions in general, slowed down the speed of drawing a sword. He even believed that if his father had not been such a playboy, he might have already broken through to the next stage.

"Thank you, Count Ethan, for taking care of my sister," Rake said calmly.

Before anyone could react, he grabbed Amber by the head and forced her into a bow.

"Ahh! What are you doing?" Amber shouted, flailing her arms.

"I am an adult, not a kid!" she scolded fiercely.

Rake rely snorted.

"Hmph."

"Have you ever seen an adult run away from ho and throw tantrums?" he replied dryly.

Amber turned red with anger.

Rake then looked at Ethan, who waved his hand lightly.

"Haha, I just did my job," Ethan said. "If you want to thank , just keep this a secret."

Rake gave a weary smile. "Do you really think this can be kept secret?"

"I know it can't," Ethan replied honestly. "But it's better to delay it as much as possible."

Rake nodded. "I will convey it to my father, but I can't control his decision. As you know, hiding things from a Monarch is a great offense."

He paused and then added, "Also, you might not know this, but the mont a Legendary rank appeared, the Emperor likely already suspected it was Amber. Her hero role-playing is quite famous."

As he said this, he glared at Amber.

Amber imdiately averted her gaze.

"Hero role-playing?" Ethan frowned.

"This lass—"

Before Rake could finish, Amber jumped forward and grabbed him by the collar.

"Enough!" she shouted. "If you spout any more bullshit, I will fight you to death."

The two siblings imdiately began quarreling, their voices overlapping as insults flew back and forth. Julia watched with a hand over her mouth, barely holding back laughter.

Finally, Rake raised a hand.

"Stop this farce," he said. "We're leaving."

Ethan tilted his head slightly. "Why don't you rest here for a few more days?" he asked politely.

"I wish to," Rake replied, "but I still have work to finish. I will co back later."

With that, the strange brother-sister pair bid their farewells and departed together, Amber still muttering complaints under her breath.

Ethan watched them disappear down the street and chuckled softly.

"What a weird bunch."

As the silhouettes of the group disappeared into the distance, Ethan's expression changed instantly.

The faint smile on his face vanished.

His eyes flickered coldly, and in the next mont, his figure blurred and disappeared from the surface.

With a flash, he reappeared deep beneath Blank City, inside the underground labyrinth that stretched like a hidden vein below the streets. The stone corridors were dimly lit by faint blue crystals embedded into the walls. The air was heavy and damp.

The mont he stepped forward, a nauseating bloody sll greeted him.

It clung to the air, thick and tallic.

Shadows moved quietly along the corridor as mbers of the Black Thorns erged from their posts. The mont they saw Ethan, they imdiately knelt down on one knee, heads lowered respectfully.

"My Lord," they greeted in unison.

Ethan raised his hand slightly.

"At ease," he said calmly.

They rose at once, but their posture remained disciplined and alert.

Footsteps echoed from the inner hall, and Hall appeared from the shadows. His face was serious, and there were faint stains of blood on his gloves.

"Hall," Ethan spoke without wasting ti. "Where are the two?"

"It's inside," Hall replied quietly.

Without another word, he turned and led the way.

They walked through narrow stone passages until they reached an inner chamber reinforced with thick tal doors and heavy runic seals. Hall pushed the door open.

Inside, the atmosphere was suffocating.

Two demons were tied to the walls with thick enchanted chains. Their bodies were bruised and covered in cuts. Dried blood stained their skin, and their breathing was shallow. They were clinging to life by a thin thread.

Despite their condition, faint traces of demonic aura still flickered weakly around them.

Ethan stepped inside and glanced over them carefully.

"Thank God," he muttered quietly. "You're all still alive, or else it might have been troubleso."

He stretched his hand forward and pulled a scepter from his storage ring. The dark tal staff humd faintly as it appeared.

Without hesitation, Ethan slamd it onto the stone floor.

The sound echoed sharply through the chamber.

"Mareti," he said calmly, his voice steady and cold. "It's your ti."

"Choose one."
