Liu Yanzhen smiled, but his eyes were cold: “It seems Lord Chu is quite confident. I wonder what methods you have prepared?”

The Prince of the State responded with a seemingly concerned smile, though his intentions were probing: “Lord Chu should be cautious. Liu Yanzhen stared at him steadily, then suddenly laughed lightly, patting him on the shoulder: “Indeed, a young man full of vigor, with admirable ideas.”
He said no more afterward.
Chu Heng only smiled as if he didn’t understand: “I won’t delay you, Prince of the State. I have matters to attend to and must leave.”
As he watched Chu Heng stride away, Liu Yanzhen’s expression grew dark, and he let out a cold huff, flicked his sleeves, and turned away with large strides.

While waiting at the Imperial Study’s door, he heard the door open, and looking up, he saw Li Chongjin ing out. Their eyes met, and they nodded slightly without speaking.
After the Fourth Prince, Li Chongjin, left, He Dequan arrived at Chu Heng’s side, smiling brightly: “Lord Chu, the Emperor is waiting inside. Please follow me.”
Chu Heng followed him in, and upon entering, he respectfully saluted: “Your Majesty.”
“No need for formalities, take a seat.”
After the Emperor Xuanming gave the mand, he dismissed He Dequan, indicating the importance of the matter to be discussed.
“I hear and obey.”
The two of them discussed for a while about guarding against Duke Zheng.
Emperor Xuanming relaxed and asked, “I heard that your family has invented a new type of armor, Minister Chu?”
“Your Majesty, I was just about to report this. I wrote down the method for crafting the armor this morning. Please have a look.”
Chu Heng presented the item.
Emperor Xuanming was overjoyed, burying himself in the examination. When he saw the principles contained within and some test results, he thought that if all the soldiers could wear such lightweight and protective armor, their bat effectiveness might significantly improve.
