The wound was actually quite large, mostly scabbed over but with fine areas still oozing blood.
Her heart ached at the sight, and impelled by a sudden impulse, she bent down and pressed her lips to the wound on his chest.
The warmth of her soft kiss landed on the wound, causing Chu Heng’s whole body to shiver. The pain mixed with warmth drew all his attention to the sensation on his chest.
His gaze deepened, and he instinctively supported her delicate arms, feeling as though his whole body was ablaze, his heart ward as if roasted over a fire, leaving him yearning to embrace her.
Chu Heng’s eyes darkened with suppressed emotion until, after struggling for so long, he finally lifted her head by her chin.
Before Ye Muyu could react, he kissed her fiercely and repeatedly.

“But it hurts just to look at it,” Ye Muyu mumbled, then accused, “And you didn’t even tell .”
“I just didn’t want to worry you,” Chu Heng said softly as he stroked her hair, attempting to soothe her.
“If you don’t tell , I’ll still worry,” Ye Muyu retorted, looking up at him indignantly, “Look, I found out anyway.”
Chu Heng was montarily speechless, then he looked down at her and asked, “So what should we do?”
“Do you even need to ask? Obviously, you shouldn’t hide anything from in the future,” Ye Muyu felt he lacked awareness, inexplicably feeling wronged. Did he not want her to interfere?
Her emotions heightened by pregnancy, Ye Muyu’s thoughts spiraled into greater distress the more she dwelled on them. She let go of his clothing, lowered her head, and sullenly withdrew her hands, struggling out of his embrace.
Chu Heng, realizing the emptiness in his arms, looked up in ti to see Ye Muyu turning away to leave, sensing sothing amiss.
