The na and location of the rainforest displayed clear as day on Zhao Rong’s phone: it was the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil.
Zhao Rong was completely bewildered. How odd. We’re clearly in the rainforest on this killer island, so why do the GPRS and Beidou dual-positioning systems show our location as the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil? What on earth is going on?
At the sa ti, Zhao Rong understood why he’d found monkeys in the monster’s stomach. The creature must enter this rainforest—the so-called Amazon—at night to feed on them.
Just as Zhao Rong was reeling from his discovery, Lili, who was standing beside him, suddenly scread, "Zhao Rong, look! There are dinosaurs up ahead!"
Stunned by the word ’dinosaurs,’ Zhao Rong lifted his head and looked into the distance. As he followed the direction Lili was pointing, he said, "Dinosaurs? But they went extinct hundreds of millions of years ago. How could they possibly be in this rainforest?"
But to his astonishnt, he saw a real dinosaur—and it was a Tyrannosaurus rex. Zhao Rong swallowed hard and said in horror, "Holy crap, there really are dinosaurs here! Let’s run! A T-rex is a carnivore!"
Just as Zhao Rong started to lead everyone in a retreat, four Tyrannosaurus rexes suddenly appeared, surrounding them on all sides. As the four T-rexes closed in, the three won and the assistant were petrified with fear.
Lili grabbed Zhao Rong’s hand and urged, "Zhao Rong, open the Paradise Shopping Cart, quickly! Buy a weapon that can kill dinosaurs! If we just stand here and wait, we’re going to be eaten!"
Yu Lan said, trembling, "Zhao Rong, you’d better buy a really powerful weapon! Sothing that can kill all four with a single shot! It’s the only way we’ll escape their jaws!"
anwhile, Xuelian couldn’t wait any longer. She pulled a can of pepper spray from her pocket and sprayed it at the four surrounding T-rexes.
The assistant plucked a large leaf from a nearby bush and lay on the ground, covering themself with it. "Instead of standing here waiting to die, I’m going to play dead," they said. "Maybe I can survive this way..."
Zhao Rong, acting with lightning speed, bought a weapon called the ’Dinosaur Killer Gun’ from the Paradise Shopping Cart. However, when the delivery cannon fired the package from the sky, it got tangled in the tall rainforest trees.
"Don’t be afraid," Zhao Rong assured the won beside him. "I bought a Dinosaur Killer Gun from the Paradise Shopping Cart. As soon as I get that package, I can use this gun to kill all four of them."
But just after he reassured the three won, he was horrified to see his package snagged in a massive tree a hundred ters tall. He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and said helplessly, "Damn it! Of all the bad luck... I can’t catch a break! Now the package is stuck in a tree..."
At that mont, the four T-rexes closed in on the group of five, their massive jaws gaping wide.
When Zhao Rong saw the four T-rexes lunge to bite, he instinctively threw himself in front of the three won and yelled, "If you have any guts, co for ! Eat , but leave them alone!"
However, to Zhao Rong’s surprise, the four T-rexes weren’t interested in them at all. Instead, they began digging up a rotting dinosaur carcass buried nearby and started to feast on it. As Zhao Rong watched them prefer carrion, he rembered an article he’d once read in a magazine. It was written by a fringe scientist who argued that Tyrannosaurus rex was actually a scavenger. The reasoning was that its two tiny forearms were far too small for combat, but they were perfectly suited for digging up buried, rotting corpses. Therefore, the scientist had concluded, the T-rex was a carrion-eater, not a ferocious predator.
Relieved, Zhao Rong turned to the three won and the assistant. "Don’t be afraid," he said. "The T-rex doesn’t eat living things. It’s a scavenger."
Even though Zhao Rong had told them not to be afraid, the assistant remained on the ground, terrified. "Who says they’re scavengers? When I was a kid, I definitely read in *10,000 Whys* that the T-rex was the mightiest dinosaur of all and ate every other dinosaur it could!"
Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian were also unconvinced. "In all the blockbuster movies we watch, like *Jurassic Park*, the T-rex is always a ferocious predator," they said. "How can you say it only eats carrion and not live prey?"
But before the won could finish speaking, the four T-rexes, having finished the carcass, turned and left.
Zhao Rong smiled at the three won and the assistant. "See? They ate the carcass and now they’re leaving."
When the three won and the assistant saw that the T-rexes really did leave after eating the carrion, ignoring them entirely, they were stunned. Lili said in disbelief, "Holy moly... everything we learned about dinosaurs as kids was wrong..."
Yu Lan boldly stood up. "If the T-rex is just a scavenger, then we don’t have to be afraid of dinosaurs anymore!"
Xuelian laughed and put away the two cans of pepper spray she was holding. "Looks like I won’t be needing these in this rainforest after all..."
The assistant also pushed aside the large leaf and stood up, saying with lingering fear, "It’s a good thing those four T-rexes were scavengers. Otherwise, we would’ve been goners..."
But before the assistant could finish, four different carnivorous dinosaurs charged toward them from a short distance away.
When Zhao Rong saw them, he couldn’t help but mutter, "Oh crap, we’re done for. These ones are definitely carnivores..."
