After a few people finished their al, Little Stone returned to the courtyard to continue practicing his writing. He had just started getting into it and found it extrely interesting, and Xiao Yifei was very happy to see Little Stone so enthusiastic about learning.

Around four o’clock in the afternoon, Xiao Yifei called Tang Rong, then waited downstairs at her company.
When Tang Rong ca down, she didn’t imdiately recognize Xiao Yifei. From a distance, his back looked familiar, but the Xiao Yifei she rembered wasn’t this thin and seed more handso.

"I went to the mountains and went hungry for a few days, so now I’m like this." Xiao Yifei had anticipated what Tang Rong would say and prepared his answer ahead of ti. He hadn’t expected their first eting after breaking up to be under such circumstances, as this appearance of his was really not fit for being seen.
Xiao Yifei deliberately downplayed his experience. Although those days were tough, he sumd them up in just a few sentences as if he’d rely taken a trip to the mountains.
"Why didn’t you tell when you were leaving? If I’d known, I could’ve packed so things for you. Look at you now; no one’s going to want you like this," Tang Rong complained, worried.
"I planned to go and return on the sa day but ran into so unexpected issues, which is why it turned out like this. After that, my phone broke, so I couldn’t get in touch with you," Xiao Yifei explained.
"Alright, let’s not dwell on the past. What are you planning to do next? Are you still going to search for the Green-eyed Silver-tailed Needle?" Tang Rong asked, feeling like Xiao Yifei might be starting a life of wandering. She couldn’t hold onto the old Xiao Yifei, and now, having resigned from his job, she had even less idea of what he was doing every day.

If you couldn’t make them stay, then just let them go graciously; this way, there’s still a hope they’ll return.
Xiao Yifei looked at Tang Rong and said to her, "Tang Rong, you’re such a wonderful girl. In this matter, I’ve let you down. I hope you’ll find happiness in the future." Saying this, Xiao Yifei forced himself to get the words out, even thinking himself insincere.
Listening to Tang Rong, he suddenly recalled a line from a Song Dongye song: "Let hear once more, the most beautiful line — ’You’ve co ho, I’m waiting for you!’"
"I know. Those sumrs, like youth, can’t return, and all that’s left to replace our dreams is reluctant acceptance." Song Dongye’s songs really fit the mood of the mont, and Xiao Yifei rembered back to the ti when he first t Tang Rong.
Honestly, those days were his most cherished. Whenever he thought of them, they seed to glow. But in the end, it’s all just nostalgia. They, everyone, everything, can’t go back. No matter how much we can’t let go, we all have to move forward. That’s probably the cruel part of life!
Xiao Yifei stepped forward and hugged Tang Rong, then whispered in her ear, "So long, take care."
Then he let go of Tang Rong and walked away without looking back.
Xiao Yifei knew what kind of person he was. Though others saw him as kind, he knew he hadn’t done well in his relationship with Tang Rong, and he had indeed hurt her. He regretted it a bit afterward, thinking how great it would be if none of this had happened. As the saying goes, to avoid all bad endings, we also avoid all beginnings.
Tang Rong watched Xiao Yifei walk away, standing there, hoping he would turn back to see her standing there, waiting for him to return. But until Xiao Yifei disappeared around the corner, Tang Rong never saw him turn back.
