Most monsters either fell behind or took advantage of the night to slip into the roadside forests.
After all, human developnt of these foothills had not been long, and off the roadsides to either the north or south lay patches of small forests.
For the Green Dragon and the human pursuers, the target was solely the Blood Pine Forest to the east, but for the monsters, they always had three choices!
Whether fleeing north or south, this vast and flat land provided them with more chances for survival.
At this mont, an atmosphere of sheer desperation and precariousness had completely engulfed the upper and lower echelons of the Green Dragon Legion.
