Yet the toy soldiers guarding Block Castle’s walls still failed to stop Byron’s group from boarding the Castle of Dreams.
Because Byron had already activated the [Group Flight Spell], short-distance flight didn’t consu much spirituality, making the bulwark just a hurdle for a quick launch.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!...
The relatively lower raid fleet continued its close-range bombardnt against the massive enemy ships, persistently draining their durability.
A large number of marines, under the leadership of a group of Fourth Order Transcendents, successfully seized the walls on one side of Block Castle.
The bolt-action rifles, unaffected by the rain, fired continuously, driving the toy soldiers who could only fight with bayonets down into the sea.
Byron glanced up to see the uneven heights of the buildings, connected by void walkways, at the top of the castle stood [Puppet King] Louis in a sharp suit, holding a saber.
Behind him, countless toy soldiers marched in neat columns, led by four radiantly glorious puppet knights, swarming past their liege, charging towards Byron’s direction.
The first knight rode a white wooden horse, holding a longbow, wearing a crown, with his body full of inscriptions from the Book of Creation, chanting Holy Word:
"When the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals, I heard one of the four living beings say in a voice like thunder, ’Co!’
And I looked, and there before was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest."
On his armor breastplate was the word: Conquest.
The second knight rode a red wooden horse, wielding a large sword, also chanting Holy Word, with the word: War, engraved on his chest.
The third knight rode a black horse, holding scales, chanting: "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius, and do not harm the oil and wine."
The word on his chest: Famine.
The fourth knight rode a green horse, holding a Death God’s sickle, surrounded by ominous green fog.
On his chest was engraved: Plague and Death.
Byron’s pupils contracted:
"These four knights seem to be the [Four Horsen of Apocalypse] from the Book of Creation that appear only when the world ends?
Or perhaps they’re just puppet replicas, and a few hundred years later, they might as well be called... collectibles.
Didn’t ntion them in the intelligence collected beforehand, is this the Puppet King’s trump card?"
Puppet King Louis actually designed his marionettes to resemble the Four Horsen of Apocalypse, clearly cosplaying as the creator, which in the eyes of believers is outright blasphemy.
But given the relationship between the Kingdom of Castilia and the Church Traditionalists, even if this truth were exposed, the punishnt would probably be negligible.
At this mont, Lady Green, Angelia suddenly pointed at the Famine Knight and exclaid:
"That one looks like Lady Madeline!
Didn’t she disappear mysteriously a few years ago? Turns out she was made into a puppet by the Puppet King!"
Byron turned to look again at the only female among the Four Horsen, carefully observing the wooden face, finally recognizing her identity.
She was once a well-known figure in the Kingdom of Castilia, not a noble, nor a great adventurer or navigator, but rely a low-tier farr without a surna.
More precisely, she was a [Famine Hunter] of the Farmyard Sequence, with the motto: "Eat well! Keep warm!"
Because in the Old Continent, even the poorest among the lower classes are unrelated to the upper society, most of the elite never considered aiding the lower-class citizens their duty.
None of those eligible to contact Extraordinary Knowledge were true commoners, and the Old Continent’s people, who despised manual labor, refused to spend a lifeti facing the earth.
Nobility seeking priests, law mages, and knights is their pursuit.
Moreover, reality isn’t a ga, with no data balance, professions differ vastly, the Extraordinary profession of the Farmyard Sequence was never mainstream society.
Yet Lady Madeline was one of the most outstanding [Famine Hunters] of this era, and her achievents were remarkable.
Potatoes, although transplanted early from the Bantaan Archipelago to the Old Continent, faced challenges in adapting to new environnts with vast latitude shifts.
And Lady Madeline presided over the taming of potatoes as a [Famine Hunter].
With the spread of this high-yield crop, she was most hopeful to ascend to a Fifth Order Legend, this achievent could even lead to sainthood during the Mythological Era.
But mysteriously disappeared a few years ago.
Who would’ve thought she was turned into a puppet by the [Puppet King], just to complete the Four Horsen of Apocalypse?
Other People of Castilia also exclaid:
"Lady Madeline is fit for inclusion in the human history hall of fa, even sainted by the Church as a Sage!
It’s insane! Louis, you dare strike at her, utterly insane!"
"Louis, you are truly damned!"
A group of People of Castilia, regardless of king, princess, neutral faction, all cursed the Puppet King Louis, abandoning any formal titles.
The other three knights, of course, were not naless figures either.
An infallible Archer of the Fortress Sequence, the impartial Knight of Judgnt of the Tribunal Sequence, and a Corpse Collector of the Graveyard Sequence.
