"Ah!"

The icy-cold pond water suddenly stung his wound, causing Sun Zhe to cry out in pain.

"Brother Long, can't you be a little gentler? I'm your subordinate now, you know."

Sun Zhe surfaced, looking gloomily at his newly acknowledged leader on the shore.

The Flood Dragon waved its claw impatiently. "Get lost!"

Without another word, Sun Zhe took a long, deep breath, and then dove into the murky depths of the pond, activating his Yin Yang X-ray Vision.

He soon discovered a large opening at the bottom, presumably worn smooth by the Flood Dragon's frequent entries and exits. After swimming into the cavern, Sun Zhe steeled his heart and pushed forward with all his might.

He hadn't expected to swim for over an hour.

Thankfully, his cultivation was high enough to hold his breath for a long ti. Otherwise, he never would have made it through the tunnel.

When he erged from the crack at the bottom and surfaced, he realized it was the very sa pond he had encountered when he first arrived.

"Phew!"

Sun Zhe swam to a shallow area and stood up. He let out a long breath and looked back at the pond, overco with a wave of emotion and the joy of having narrowly escaped death.

Brother Long, oh, Brother Long, I hope you were just making a casual remark. Please don't actually co out looking for . This is a modern society, after all. If you reveal yourself, people from Kyoto will probably show up, and I won't be able to protect you then.

After a long ti, Sun Zhe was wading through the water again. Upon reaching the fork in the underground river, he finally saw a long-awaited glimr of light.

It was as if he'd been shot with adrenaline. Ignoring the pain and exhaustion racking his body, he quickened his pace and ran toward the light.

After passing through the canyon corridor and avoiding the Man-eating Bats, Sun Zhe's strength finally gave out. He collapsed onto the ground and then slowly lay back, gasping for breath.

After resting for a while, he managed to sit up. He struggled to channel his Divine Sense and released Su Nanzhi and Sun Batian from the White Jade Ring.

"Ah Zhe, where are we?" Su Nanzhi looked around in confusion, seeming a bit disoriented.

Sun Zhe lay back on the ground, panting as he smiled. "We're out. This is… the sa canyon we were in at the start."

Only then did Su Nanzhi notice his deathly pale face, his utter exhaustion, and the ghastly scar across his chest.

"Ah Zhe, what happened to you?" she asked, squatting beside him. Her eyes reddened, and her heart twisted in pain. "Did you run into those people you ntioned?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine. We made it out safely, didn't we?" Sun Zhe shook his head with a weak smile and changed the subject. "But what about you? How did it feel being inside there?"

Su Nanzhi recalled her experience. "Everything in there was real, but it was also very strange. It felt like… everything was stationary."

"Stationary?"

"I can't really describe the feeling. It was as if ti itself had been frozen there."

Sun Zhe waved his hand and struggled to his feet. "Forget it. There's no point dwelling on it now. Let's go."

"Are you okay to walk? Let help you."

"Why don't you just carry ? A princess carry."

Su Nanzhi simply rolled her eyes at him. "Get out of here."

With Su Nanzhi supporting him, Sun Zhe walked forward slowly. The little cat, Sun Batian, hopped along cheerfully behind them.

Just as they exited the canyon, Sun Zhe saw the Chen siblings, Su Ai, and the others. It seed they had been waiting there the whole ti.

"Woohoo!" Chen Ruolong was the first to spot Sun Zhe and couldn't help but let out a whoop. "Sis, look! The boss and the others are out!"

Then he added, "Huh, and it looks like he brought a cat with him."

Chen Ruoyi and Su Ai exchanged a relieved smile and walked over to greet them. Chen Ruoyi wanted to give Sun Zhe a hug, but she stopped herself when she saw Su Nanzhi beside him.

"Well, if it isn't Yang City's own President Su. Long ti no see," Chen Ruoyi said with a smile.

Su Nanzhi smiled back. "I believe the last ti we t was two years ago."

Sun Zhe looked surprised. "How do you two know each other?"

"We t at a banquet once," Su Nanzhi explained.

Sun Zhe sighed with feeling. "It seems the circle of you wealthy folks is really small."

Just then, Su Ai ran over and threw her arms around Su Nanzhi, bursting into tears in her embrace.

"Sister Nanzhi, you had so worried! I'm so glad you're back. Otherwise, how could I ever face Sister Qingli… boohoohoo…"

Su Nanzhi gently patted her head. "Alright, Little Ai. You're too old to be crying like this."

After so pleasantries, the group returned to the guest courtyard.

Sun Zhe was already injured, and after swimming for so long, he was completely exhausted. He took a bath, and fell asleep the mont his head hit the pillow.

When he next awoke, it was already the middle of the night.

A biting cold made Sun Zhe shiver. He rubbed his arms and sat up, looking around in shock. He wasn't in the guest courtyard, but in Yao Yuelong's seclusion grotto.

How strange. Why am I here?

Sun Zhe got out of bed. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the sound of splashing water nearby. Following the sound with his eyes, he saw Yao Yuelong bathing in the pool.

A fine white mist rose and swirled in the air. In the pool, Yao Yuelong's long black hair was fanned out across the water's surface, like a blooming firework. Unfortunately, only her collarbones were visible; Sun Zhe was denied the chance to see the beautiful scenery that lay beneath.

"Uh… Priest Yao, how did I end up here?"

Yao Yuelong looked at him, her expression unreadable. "You were severely injured. I had my people bring you here so I could heal you."

"Oh, is that so? Thank you."

A blush crept onto Yao Yuelong's jade-like face. She sank deeper into the water, subrging herself up to her neck until only her head remained above the surface. She appeared calm, but inwardly she was flustered.

She hadn't expected Sun Zhe to wake up at this mont. She was completely naked, and if this lecher were to see her, tonight would likely be a repeat of…

While she was lost in thought, Sun Zhe suddenly walked to the edge of the pool and squatted down, bringing himself closer to her.

"Long'er, I've been so pent-up."

Hearing this, Yao Yuelong's beautiful eyes trembled. "What did you call ?"

Although she had already accepted Sun Zhe as her husband, in her eyes, he was still a young man several hundred years her junior. For him to suddenly address her so intimately was sothing she found very hard to get used to.

Sun Zhe scratched his head and gave a sheepish laugh. "If you don't like it, I'll stop."

Yao Yuelong forced herself to remain calm. Her beautiful eyes scanned him, her gaze finally landing on the faint scar on his brow. "It seems," she said in a tone of certainty, "you've already t that dragon."

Sun Zhe's eyes widened in disbelief and curiosity. "How did you know?"

"Because it left sothing on you," Yao Yuelong replied.

Sun Zhe looked himself over. "What did it leave?"

Yao Yuelong didn't answer directly. "You will find out in ti," she said, before letting out a soft chuckle. "It's quite surprising that it chose a human. It was probably drawn to your Pure Yang Holy Body."

Sun Zhe was utterly bewildered, finding her words completely mystifying.

Yao Yuelong looked at him intently and said, "Actually, she is my sister."

"Your sister?"

Yao Yuelong waved her jade-like hand, and a blast of cold air rushed toward Sun Zhe, instantly blurring his vision.

A mont later, the cold mist before his eyes dissipated. When he looked again, Yao Yuelong had already left the pool, her graceful figure now wrapped in a white gauze dress.

However, more than the beautiful sight before him, Sun Zhe was focused on what Yao Yuelong had just said.

"You said that dragon is your sister. What exactly does that an?"

"That dragon," Yao Yuelong said faintly, "was originally a little girl. She only beca like that because of certain things that happened."
