"Incoming!!!"
Seeing the rapidly approaching lights in the sky, Kevin threw away the coffee in his hand and shouted as he ran to a nearby trench that hadn't been flattened.
At this mont, he hoped more than anyone that the trenches dug by the rcenaries were sturdy enough.
The rockets, screaming with death, were like the apocalyptic fire from God, raining down evenly across the entire Position One.
After the brief, blinding flash, a series of gray-red mushroom clouds of fla rose from the ground, quickly spreading and engulfing everything around.
The rising flas and shockwaves far exceeded any previous bombardnt.
The gunners of the Chaotic Blade Association, outperforming themselves, could fire 10 rounds a minute, making it 60 rounds with six cannons.
While the Mongolian Toplaner unleashed nearly a hundred rockets and shells on the Chaotic Blade Association's artillery in just 10 seconds.
Kevin, huddled in the trench, could feel the scorching heat wave and the doomsday-like tremors, his eardrums nearly tearing apart.
All he could do was hold his head and let the dirt and stones cover his back, praying to God that he might miraculously survive this bombardnt.
One after another, truck-mounted howitzers were blown to pieces by the falling rockets, and even ammunition boxes were affected, causing them to explode as well.
Many of the Chaotic Blade Association's artilleryn didn't even have ti to run before they were blown apart, dragging others around them into their demise.
This earth-shattering sound imdiately caught the attention of everyone on the battlefield.
Even Olivia at the entrance of the valley could hear the deafening explosion.
When did our artillery have such firepower?
"What's going on over at Position One?"
"Kevin's artillery position is being bombarded by the enemy!"
"What? Wasn't it said that the other side had no more shells? Where did such fierce firepower co from?"
With this commotion, Olivia could believe if you said the other side had dozens of cannons.
"It's rockets, lots of them, and the launch site is very close! Probably only a few kiloters away."
This is one major flaw of rockets, or rather, the flaw of the multi-barrel rocket launchers that players can currently produce.
A range of 8 kiloters, along with a loud noise, ans the launch point is visible imdiately.
This is also one of the reasons Wildman desperately opposed them firing; at such a close distance, a foot on the accelerator and they would be at the spot.
"What?"
Olivia's eyes widened.
She couldn't have imagined that the other side had hidden a rocket army right under her nose, and when they struck, they did so ruthlessly.
The thought that what she cherished might now only be worth scrap tal prices wrenched her heart.
"What's the damage to the artillery battalion?"
"Temporarily out of contact."
The officer of the hundred-n squad closest to the explosion area looked at the hellish sea of fire scene, feeling uneasy and doubting anyone inside could survive.
"But it seems the losses are severe."
"Damn!! Damn it!!"
When Olivia heard this, her bionic eye, already red, turned even redder.
"Listen up, everyone! Today, at any cost, we have to kill these bastards and avenge our brothers!"
"All spoils of war, won, money, prosthetics, organs, whoever grabs them owns them! Divide them up yourselves, I won't interfere."
She was completely committed, and there was no turning back. She had paid such a high price and lost so many people; if she couldn't retrieve enough spoils, her subordinates would tear her apart alive.
Hearing that they could handle the spoils themselves, the previously lethargic Chaotic Blade Association officers brightened up.
Whoever grabs it, owns it.
At that thought, not just them, even those subordinates started to flush with excitent, eager to grab guns and charge those on the hill.
"Walter, dispatch a mobile unit to deal with those bastards who ambushed our artillery!"
"This..."
After hearing that the artillery was taken down, Walter started to retreat ntally.
After all, if such firepower turned towards his armor battalion, he would likely suffer heavy losses.
But if he blatantly refused now, he would die a horrible death.
"Then… what about the frontline?"
Olivia: "I'm going to activate the [Great Mount Pill] now, hoping it's as impressive as Huang Ban claid."
Great Mount Pill...
Walter knew exactly what it was, a primary war machine by Huang Ban deployed in North Arica during the unification war, a decisive weapon one level above the main battle tank like the dragon lizard.
Theoretically, it's similar to the military tech Chira.
The price of this thing is comparable to a modern main fighter jet, and the maintenance costs are exorbitant for the Chaotic Blade Association; the cost is utterly unacceptable for them as a weapon.
Of course, the price gap between a brand new and second-hand one is indisputably vast.
"Hoo..."
Though he found it wasteful, Walter chose not to argue.
"It's your decision."
Having such an item on the battlefield, especially in the hilly terrain most suited for its combat, undoubtedly ensured success.
However, the mobile unit he sent to hunt down the players' artillery could only co up empty-handed. Vehicle-mounted rocket launchers weren't like traditional artillery; traditional artillery took a lot of preparation ti to install, fire, and relocate. If tid wrong, they could be wiped out, but vehicle-mounted rocket launchers wouldn't talk nonsense, they would unleash all their ammo in 10 seconds and then hit the gas and escape.
You try chasing them.

Utilizing the images transmitted by the UAV, Albertson watched the rocket bombardnt that engulfed the six heavy cannons, shocked yet sowhat schadenfreude.
